We always love staying at The Sukhothai and it was a tranquil as ever. This time however, the breakfast spread was not as exceptional as before due to the refurbishment of the usual restaurant, which I understand. I booked again this time because of the discounted price but if I was paying full price I would seriously have to consider other 5 star hotels. Not sure if The Sukothai deserves the price increase because I couldn’t really see enough improvement to justify it … you did ask for honest feedback. Still love to stay here and it’s hard to beat for a laid back, relaxed stay with excellent and attentive staff.

Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Traditional Thai design - great breakfast and Sunday Champaign brunch. The swimming pool is also great, all in the center of Bangkok!!

Sukhothai looks fabulous and has great facilities, however service and substance let it down badly.
From arrival, service lets it down, and it certainly can nor compete with the best 5 star hotels in Bangkok. First impressions are clouded when the checkin staff try to upsell to every customer - ‘ your room isn’t available, however for X you can upgrade and access your room now. Otherwise you are forgotten about.
Secondly, and sadly the Exec Lounge is merely playing at being high-end. Staff are badly trained, food average, personal service non-existent - yet they look very busy, even when no one is there.
