Warning to anyone booking the Deluxe Room: Please make sure the room you are given actually matches the photos and description shown online when you check in, including the room size, queen-size bed, private bathroom, floor-to-ceiling windows, Marshall speaker, and overall layout. I specifically paid extra to book a Deluxe Room. However, on the first night of my stay, I was extremely disappointed and confused. I was assigned a room located in the farthest and most isolated corner on the fifth floor. The room had an irregular layout because the sloping roof cut into the walls, leaving both the mirror and the window tilted at an angle. The window was very small, the bed was only a standard double bed (the same as the Classic Room), and there was no sound system or spacious square layout like the one shown in the promotional photos. I understand that hotel rooms don’t always look exactly like the pictures online, and I’m willing to accept some differences. However, this was far beyond that. It felt misleading to the point of being deceptive. The final straw came when I looked at the floor plan posted behind the room door. It clearly showed that my room was the smallest one on the floor and had the most awkward layout. The next morning, I spoke to the front desk. Fortunately, one of the female receptionists was incredibly kind, patient, and immediately tried to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, because the hotel was fully booked, I wasn’t able to move into the Deluxe Room I had actually paid for until the third day of my stay. This was the most absurd hotel experience I have ever had after traveling to so many countries. I don’t know whether this was the mistake of the staff member who assigned my room on the first day, or if this hotel routinely downgrades guests and simply hopes they won’t notice. Either way, I found it completely unacceptable. If you wouldn’t want to be treated this way while traveling abroad, then please don’t treat your guests this way either.
