Villa Tambuuco, classic style house with a pool and a rooftop terrace, 100 M from the beach, in between mayan ancient ruins and the stunning caribbean beach.
Located in the gated community of Playacar 1, where flowering gardens are shared with ancient Mayan temples where the indigenous made their rituals before crossing to Cozumel island.
Villa Tambuuco has 6 bedrooms. Cuija, Tizoc, Pilon, Palomar, Master bedroom and the Master bedroom 2 , all with a hammock, king bed and AC.
Villa Tambuuco, a big stone house with the elegant atmosphere of the bygone years of last century before WW2 , with a mediterranean style and high ceilings, the fresh breeze of the carribean sea flows within it.
The common areas at Villa Tambuuco are the main living room to read a book, send some emails or play a tune at the piano. The dining area where Lupe can prepare breakfast or bring a chef for lunch and dinner. Two terraces to enjoy the sun with coffee. The ping pong area next to an outside bar. A pool to listen to some music with a nice cold beer under the sun. The Master room to watch a movie or do some serious work, it also can be used as a office/study room to working groups, and finally a Rooftop to get a tan or watch the sunset as the day ends. We are the highest house in Playacar, so we have the best view!
Villa Tambuuco provides their guests with beach chairs, umbrellas, all bathroom supplies, ping pong table and bicycles so you can roll around town on a sunny & breezy day.

My husband & I, along with our assistance dog were guests at Villa Tambuuco recently. From inception, communication with Marc was seamless. Upon arrival we were met by Laurice who warmly gave us the grand tour which is exactly as pictured. Every detail from floor to ceiling transports you to another time & place when life was simple and people took pride in their workmanship. It is warm, and elegantly cozy. Very easy to feel at home, especially as I was working remotely and the upstairs office / bedroom was a dream with ocean breezes dancing through the room all day long and the best Wi-Fi I’ve ever had in Mexico! It was also a lovely treat to have Lupe cook us breakfast. Lupe keeps the house neat as a pin, and obviously cares for it as if it were her own. This place is “Class” with a capital “C”… we travel for 2 months annually in Mexico and we will most definitely be returning to Villa Tambuuco!!

Villa Tambuuca is a beautiful home with a Spanish/Mediterranean vibe. House is well-maintained and located in a safe/secure neighborhood in Playacar within walking distance of downtown Playa Del Carmen.
The staff was incredibly helpful and assisted in coordinating airport transfers, local transportation, excursions, and meals. Communication was great the entire duration of our stay.
Check-in was very smooth, with the groceries we requested being delivered before our arrival. We had several meals prepared by the private chef, Stephane, which were amazing. He created an exceptional dining experience.
I highly recommend Tambuuco for large groups and/or families.

The good: This house was ours for a week in December 2022. We had a great time. Booking was easy, communication was very good, taxi service was very responsive. We showed up and to our surprise we had a maid that helped our extended family of 18 people. There is a bedroom off to the side of the main area on the lower level which was very nice. There are resorts right down the road, so finding jet skis, fishing, massages and other activities was quite easy.
What could be better: While each bedroom has a split level AC, the main area is not air conditioned. This was manageable but it did get warm a couple of nights. Playacar is a bit removed from the main area of 5th avenue. This required us to use taxis a bit, however, a call to the front gate and we had taxis in usually less than ten minutes. It is four levels so we put the younger family up top and the older ones downstairs.
Overall a very nice property, owner was attentive to our needs and very responsive!

Our extended family of 11 including a child and an infant stayed for 10 days. The house is beautiful and only a short walk to the beach! All amenities we needed were there except for groceries which were easy to go shop for. AC in all bedrooms and fans in the great room can turn on very high to keep it cool. Laurice, the owner, was kind to meet us for check in and check on us regularly to arrange massages and anything else needed. Marc was great to answer questions and Stephane was phenomenal in arranging for a chef and a wonderful feast for 22 on Thanksgiving day! Very fun and memorable trip!! Highly recommend! Definitely do the chef from Tasty Nomads! It was the best!
