I experienced an emergency and the staff was respectful and kind in getting it solved

My first time experience with 1sabai hostel gave me very good experience.

I’ll definitely booked again to this hostel when It’s needed, location was amazing it’s nearby to the centre, staff was incredible helpful and kitchen was clean and organized.

The first negative thing in our thankfully short stay in this cheap hostel that stuck out: they put a 1 in front of their unimaginative hostel name to appear higher in search results. This alone is predatory business behavior. Speaking of higher, the place is shadily located around weed dispensaries in a back alley, hidden away. The first thing you'll be greeted with when you go upstairs to the 'reception' are the cats, which are probably the only good thing about this place, but they come with the ever pungent smell of cat piss in the common area. The cats are also very overweight which already signals negligent behavior and is considered animal cruelty in my country. But it's not the cat's fault, only the owner's. The common area is really just these people's living rooms, as is the whole hostel is just a small extension of their own home. There's no hostel feeling at all, just the feeling of you intruding into someone's home here. The second floor where all the rooms are places welcomes you with a different disgusting smell, one of dampness and mold, caused by there being no windows near the rooms and then probably washing their clothes in a nearby room. It's claustrophobic and the rooms are tiny without any windows, too. There is one AC at the end of the long room and 2 small fans put in the first half. The "privacy" curtain on the lower bunk bed doesn't keep anything private, they are see through and don't cover the bed fully. The beds themselves are fine, but you'll move the whole bunk easily, a bit unstable. The wash room is rundown, some broken tiles and hinges, screws loose and spots some welcoming sign of "No puking allowed, we'll fine you in Baht if you do". You can use the lockers if you bring your own lock, but most are blocked by ancient old locks. There's a washing machine but only if you pay for everything extra. The WORST thing comes last: we wanted to store our bags for a while for safekeeping while we explore the city, which they just randomly let us store in the middle of the living room. During our night out, they text us on Agoda they put our bags downstairs. DOWNSTAIRS, our whole life is in those bags, now next to the entrance where every thief, passerby or whatnot can just grab them! This is absolutely indisputably IRRESPONSIBLE and UNACCEPTABLE behavior for a place that calls itself Hostel. There is no lack of space and if these bags got stolen, I would have to get the police involved in this shady operation they are running. They also have the callousness of writing a several paragraph text on why they are not a baggage storage. I think these people have never been to a real hostel or hotel before. AVOID this place at all costs, even if you are low on budget backpackers like us. It's not worth risking your belongings and health for.
