    I enjoyed my stay, the rooms are nice and well renovated. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were quiet consider the street and some bars are right there. But yes I probably wouldn’t want to be in a room facing the street, unless you are okay with bit of noise. The interior of the hotel is lovely, nice art and furnishings. The pool I didn’t go in, but it id a little old needs some maintence but it looked good enough the stairs up to the pool were hard and wouldn’t be good for kids or old people. I really liked the nearby cafes - rise and grind, the neighbourhood and there is a little cafe next to rise and grind that was also great. I didn’t eat at the downstairs restaurant. One thing that was a bit of an inconvenience was that I had initallt booked 2 nights than decided to stay one more night, I accidentally had put in the wrong date in Agoda when booking - it was 2 days later. Reception informed me an hour later, I asked if I could cancel and get a refund but they wouldn’t. The price was more expensive on the Saturday night, over my budget and I wanted a refund as I would have booked somewhere a bit more affordable. They really weren’t willing to do this and I thought that was a bit rude not great as it was 2 days out from the booking. They gave me the room at *** if I’d wanted breakfast would have been *** but this was more than I could afford. I really had to make a point to have it at the *** they were trying to make me pay for breakfast. I also had to move rooms because someone else had booked in, they put me in a delux or upgraded room but this wasn’t important to me, the main difference was it had a small lounge. This was the only thing I thought was not handled right, they could have easily refunded or just offered it at the same price or they could have included breakfast for free. The showers are good pressure and hot water but bit tight to get in and out of especially if a bigger or tall person. The hotel is lovely classic and heritage and has a lovely feel to it.

    Near good eateries (including a Michelin star one) and souvenir shops. Round the corner is the Phuket Museum - good for a quick history of Phuket. It's free and a respite from the hot weather. There is a section where you can try on Peranakan clothes. Good fun.
