We really enjoyed our stay at Mandalai in Chaloklum. The biggest highlight is definitely the beautiful beachfront location. Waking up to the ocean view each morning was amazing, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. The hotel is located in a quiet fishing village, which gives you a more authentic Koh Phangan experience, with plenty of delicious local restaurants and cafés nearby. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and overall you get what you pay for. It’s great value for money if you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay rather than a luxury resort. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re after a relaxing getaway away from the busier parts of the island, this is a fantastic choice. We’d happily stay here again! 🌴🏖️

This place was great for a few nights. Nice size rooms. Clean. Shower was amazing. Very central and just a short walk to the beach.

The room has a fantastic view in an incredible location and the local staff were really really nice, but the owner was unbelievably rude and the room was in an incredibly decrepit state with nails sticking out of the ground, rips in the sheets and no running water for most of the night. The pool looked a little bit uninviting and the lights in the room didn’t make any sense to me at all. Most of the plug points didn’t work. I would love to see this place refurbished as it could be one of the nicest places in the village but as it stands it’s really rundown and the attitude of the (British) owner was really quite shocking considering how good hospitality normally is in Thailand.

The hotel is at the center of the village. There are many restaurants around and the Sunday Night Market is located on the same street. The staff is nice, but the hotel needs a bit of care. The key was stucking in the lock and the door didn't adjust very well. The hotel has warnings they are not responsible if something is taken from the room. Room is big enough and the bed is comfortable.
