A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Amsterdam!
Our stay at The Bolster Hotel was truly exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and cared for. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Amsterdam with easy access to everything via tram, yet still peaceful enough for a good night’s rest.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the owner. She is absolutely incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and genuinely kind — it’s clear that great pride is taken in making sure every guest has the best possible experience.
From helpful recommendations to going the extra mile when we needed assistance, the service was beyond anything we expected.
The rooms are stylish, clean, and full of character — a perfect blend of comfort and charm. Every detail was well thought out, and it made our stay feel not just like a hotel visit, but like a home away from home.
Highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel for anyone visiting Amsterdam.

The hotel is very nice. The location is right in the city centre near to them tram. There is a Albert Heijn supermarket and a Starbucks 2 minutes away by walk. The rooms are quiet small as it is very central but I did had enough place to arrange my suitcase. There is no lift! Which for me it doesn’t matter. The staff is lovely and there is not always someone at the reception but always available via WhatsApp if you need anything. I checked in late with a code that was in the box for me. I really liked it.

First when we arrived we didn’t get any check in instructions. After 22hours travel and dragging our luggage when we arrive I need to checked everything in case they sent check in instructions but nope they didn’t. So we spent 15m to find out how we check in. After we sent WhatsApp they sent us the check in instructions. Room is small doesn’t look like on the photo. We thought location is good because it’s on the central with many bars and restaurants. But if you’re not a fan of night out it can be very loud. The room itself doesn’t give you privacy. You can hear EVERYTHING from outside of your room. The worst is it was 8PM on our last night stay there after travelling 22h to Amsterdam, struggling with jet lag, and having morning flight on the next day, on our last night there was group of British screaming, laughing punching the wall and slamming the door when the go in and out the room! Texted the customer service, their response is “It’s legal to make noise before 10 in the Netherlands, so the guests can make noise as much as they want”. We paid the same amount but why we need to suffer. After they left they came back at 4AM and even louder than before for hours! Texted their customer service NO RESPONSE. Their job is to make sure all guests are treated fairly, welcomed and enjoying their stay. But because they don’t want to kick the loud group who’s probably disturbed whole floor to keep their money we need to suffer. What horrible hospitality. Also there was hidden fee. They asked us to pay another 58€ without explanation but ofcourse we refused it. Spend bit more and stay out from this hotel.
