    We stayed for 4 nights in total. First 2 nights then 3rd night away from Kuching , then another 2 nights back in the same hotel. The positive points: great location, nice and pleasant spacious rooms, good buffet breakfast, friendly reception staff. Negative points: many rooms had air-conditioning issues. They had to change our rooms on both occasions when we checked in. During the 2nd check-in, the reception allocated us a room which was already identified for air-condition repair . The reception lobby was also without air-conditioning due to some fault. Apparently many rooms' air-conditioning were down. Housekeeping team seriously needs proper training and consistency. They were very inconsistent. Our room had only one bath towel. There weren't any hand towels and face towels. Somedays they were provided for. Floor mat, similar issue. The hair dryer was missing, half used pack of sugar, no soap dish in one of the rooms. Clumps of hair on the bathroom floor when we first checked in. The bathroom floor had dirty stains which were like someone had walked into the wet bathroom floor with shoes on and the dirt and stains had dried up. The armchair in the room is off- white in colour and had a fair number of stains. Several TV remote controls were without covers, thus exposing the batteries. In one of our rooms, the sink was choked when we checked in. The sink plunger was missing. But after clearing the choke, the plunger was not replaced either. This would definitely allow big items to accidentally drop in and cause future clogging. On one occasion , I requested a portable handheld weighing scale from the bell boy to be sent up to my room later in that evening. But instead, he told me to bring my luggage down to their counter to weigh ! How am I going to adjust and repack my items at the counter if needed ? Parking is available in basement 1 and 2 but the lift does not serve basement 2 ! I think the hotel needs to seriously look into the maintenance issues and retraining of their staff in certain departments. Special thanks to reception staff Stephanie and Cassandra .
