    The price is ok but … the resort was empty and the staff still made us wait until 3pm to check in. The room was miles away from the pool and advertised facilities. Toilet wouldn’t flush so we asked to swap rooms. Next room was better, cleaner and closer to pool. Bar had run out of all beer except Guinness. Next morning bar and cafe closed so nowhere to get a coffee. This place could be amazing as beach is right there and weather is awesome. Needs maintenance, new paint and facilities to be open and better stocked.

    A perfect healing getaway! Friendly staff, a beautiful beach, delicious food, and a peaceful atmosphere. Had a wonderful stay at Damai Beach Resort. Highly recommended!

    We stayed 4 nights in July 26 and nearly had place to ourselves, as its a very big resort but only had 5% occupancy during our stay. The view was amazing and we stayed in a chalet in front of the beach so we could see the sunset from our room each night. The other highlights were the 2 large pools plus kids pool, and the nearby hiking tracks up Mt Santubong. You will need to keep your expectations in check as the buildings and fixtures are in need of repairs, and some activities are no longer available, and this would be expected as there isn't enough revenue being generated to pay for it. The resort is very isolated and aside from a western restaurant at Esco beach and a 7 Eleven next door you have to eat at the resorts one restaurant, which is a bit limiting. We made the most of the positive aspects and had a very relaxing time.
