    We stayed here for just one night before going to Cozumel. Bed was comfy and welcomed after a long flight but the hotel is a little tired looking. Also, the foyer was dark at night with seemed a little odd.... Not sure why you'd want people to wander into a dark hotel to the lift. Didn't use the pool or other facilities so can't comment on those. Stuff we're friendly. Good location

    The room was spacious and clean. The pool was slightly cloudy but it was a nice area with a good bar. One day my room was very damp with water forming on the floor. The member of staff said they would send housekeeping up. They did not. On the last day when waiting for my flight I tried to find an aircon area to stay cool. There was none because the lobby is open. I ended up sitting in the bathroom rather than the suggested room top in the blazing heat.

    Everything was great, the pool it's not ideal for kids. It has more of a club vibe than recreation. Other than that everything was wonderful.

    I recently stayed at The Fives Downtown Hotel & Residences, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. At the time of booking, I understood that all taxes and fees were included. However, upon arrival I was informed of several additional charges that had not been disclosed in advance, including a government tax, a nightly resort fee, and a refundable deposit per night. While these may be standard, the lack of transparency beforehand was frustrating. Check-in was also poorly handled. I arrived around 1:00 PM and was told no rooms were available, yet I was offered the option to pay extra for earlier access before 2:30 PM, which felt inconsistent. I was eventually checked in at 2:00 PM, but the communication around this process was unclear. The room itself did not match what was advertised. I booked a King Superior Courtyard View room specifically because it was listed as having a balcony, but the room I received did not include one. When I raised this, I was told balconies are subject to availability—something that was not stated anywhere during booking. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel check-in experiences I’ve had. The service did not reflect the standards I would expect from a Hilton property, and staff responses felt rehearsed rather than helpful. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE REFUND DEPOSIT, WHICH HAS NOT YET BEEN RETURNED. I would not recommend this property based on my experience. I have now read other negative reviews, and I usually take them with a pinch of salt but having been on the property I'd say pay attention to them as unfortunately they are correct.
