    First of all, shout out to the amazing friendly staffs of Blue Mansion. They were very attentive and helpful. We tried so hard to love this place unfortunately we had no so pleasant experience. Started off with the air conditioning loud fan sound and has no option to change to quiet mode so we had to turn off the air conditioner and luckily the fan was enough to cool the room. Secondly, there was mold patches from the leaking on the ceiling which we thought it wasn’t not maintained well. Though so, I initially thought it’s still forgiving and accepted the fact that a 4 star hotel with very insane price to not being maintained very well. But I draw the line at cleanliness. I was just being on the floor and was so shocked to see a cockroach with a size of a thumb came crawling to me. At that point, I felt really disappointed with the stay. Such a beautiful heritage but sadly I don’t think we come back.

    This is an expensive stay, not measured in relation to most (or all) hotels in Penang. This is because you are paying to stay in a rich peranakan mansion, in existence since many years ago. Living in a heritage house like this is all about an experience. We stay one night and move on to hotels to explore Penang in other ways.
