    I really enjoyed my stay in Hotel El Djenina. Also, I would like to thank Mr Taha, Mr Mouad, Mr Youssef and Mr Mohammed for all their kindness, help and support. The four of them were extremely professional and so welcoming. I would definitely go back if I'm in Tangier.

    I enjoyed my actual stay at the hotel, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, I was very disappointed with how an honest booking mistake was handled. Before arriving, I accidentally made a duplicate booking at this hotel instead of another hotel on my itinerary. I realised my mistake within 30 minutes of making the reservation and immediately submitted a cancellation request explaining that it was an obvious error. My itinerary clearly showed that I already had bookings before and after the mistaken reservation. When I checked in later that same day, I explained the situation to reception. I was assured that it would not be a problem and that the manager would process the cancellation. I followed up again the next morning and again when I checked out, and each time I was told the manager would deal with it. Based on these conversations, I genuinely believed the matter was being resolved. It was therefore extremely disappointing to discover only after I had left Morocco that my request had been rejected and the booking had simply been treated as a no-show. Had I been told from the outset that the hotel would not honour the cancellation, I would at least have known where I stood instead of being repeatedly assured that it would be taken care of. I understand that non-refundable bookings have terms and conditions. However, I also believe customer service should allow for common sense and discretion when an obvious mistake is reported almost immediately and the room was never intended to be used. My disappointment is not only with the outcome but with the repeated assurances that the matter would be resolved when, in the end, it was not. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling that genuine customer mistakes are not treated with the understanding and goodwill I would have expected.
