    One of the best places to stay if you want to see the beach even from your bed - that's what I like. Rooms are good. No water kettles/tea-maker in the room, but they happily provided one when we requested. Ranga the proeprty manager and owner Zander were very helpful when due to an illness we had to change dates - they accommodated without fuss. Food was mostly fresh and good, but the portion sizes are very small - good only for one and I found the prices a bit high. The menu could do with some revamp and expansion. Open restaurant with a bar on the first floor. They arrange good sitting bby the pool and also facilitated a dinner in a beach cabana. Excellent. Rooms and toilets good. They have a good safe to store valuable. The biggest plus is the quiet rustic beach with lot of cows, dogs and very friendly and unobtrusive firsherfolks doing their business - tugging boats in and out. Impressed by the cleanliness of the beach - walkable for about a kilometre or so - on barefoot. Quite bathable, though the sea was story and it was raining so we could not. Now some warnings - the approach lane is a bit narrow. The place is a bit remote from Tangalle. Perhaps this was an off season so no places other than Halcyon to go for meals. We found Malima on Tangalle beach to be a great place to eat - large portions, fresh food and very reasonable rates. Its on a hilltop with perhaps the best views in Tangalle. And its run by the Navy folks.
