Great place for hiking in the area
They were flexible with the dates, I needed to change in last days, got there late after hiking Zirbitzkogel from Reichenfels and it was really great to stay there afterwards. There are also signs leading to this place which is great when your phone is about to die. Breakfast is really good as well. The place has a really good vibe to it.
Shower is not the best but usable.

Good classic mountain stay
A friend and I ended up having the 16-bed dormitory to ourselves which was amazing. You get what you can expect from a mountain hut/stay, clean facilities, good location when you do the Große Zirbitzkogelrunde, friendly staff and proper mountain flair.
Carpet flooring in the toilets is a bit questionable and the showers are all quite old but were still clean so no complaints, just something to be prepared for

Nice stay.
It’s in the middle or nowhere, which makes it even better. Remote is an understatement but once there, it’s a delight. Typically Austrian ski resort, wooden outside and inside. I was checked in my a young guy who was very pleasant and helpful. Food was nice, nothing fancy but good enough. Room was clean and just what I needed after having to sleep in my car the night before. I would definitely recommend. Thanks
Breakfast choices are limited, I went downstairs at 0820 and there was not much left so I had muesli and yoghurt.

Exceptional
- The area (good starting place for hikes) - The staff was great - General ambience of the place - The road up there (although the google maps were a bit a loss, and initially suggest a different route) - We've really enjoyed our short stay there
- Cards not accepted (I'm rating still rating my stay at 10/10, as this seem to be a theme in Austria/Germany - credit cards are generally frowned on in many places; I want to highlight this for next travelers so they are aware).
