    I’ve stayed at Local Riverside Phnom Penh twice now and honestly love this place. The first time I stayed in the dorm room – super spacious with big, comfy beds, and the shared bathroom was really clean. The second time I booked a balcony room but got upgraded to the Penthouse – huge room with a massive rooftop balcony and comfy sofas. Such a great surprise! The staff are all super friendly and helpful, and the owner is just the nicest guy who’ll help you with anything you need. They’ve also got a bar and restaurant downstairs – definitely try the mojitos and BBQ, both were amazing! Overall, it’s a super chill spot with great vibes, awesome service, and a perfect location by the river. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Admittedly, I booked in a hurry and didn't realize until arrival it wasn't the place I thought. It's been recently bought/renamed The Local. The lobby/dining area photos don't accurately represent the current state. Definitely not as nice. The room photos are more true to life. I was under the impression there would be a window in the room per the photos in the description. There wasn't one nor a bathtub. The bed was comfortable. Sewer gas smells from the bathroom became quite strong due to lack of ventilation. It served it's purpose but wouldn't recommend it for more than one or two nights maximum. Personally not a fan of having to be let in or out to have a smoke. Not being able to come and go freely is not something I enjoy. Felt more like detention than a holiday stay.
