GLANSIT AKIHABARA COMFORT CAPUSULE HOTEL

This hotel was clean, comfortable, and overall very good. There is a sento in the basement, a hot chocolate/coffee machine in a break room downstairs, and quiet comfortable capsule rooms. It's more expensive than other capsule hotels in Japan, but you're paying for a great location if you want to stay in Akihabara.

Review for private capsule + very convenient location + capsule is spacious and clean + private room is big enough for big luggage, space almost equivalent to a typical japanese business hotel, but more spacious single it's like a single bed instead of queen size + has 3 hangers and enough space to hang + Security is good you need the key in order to get in and you are not supposed to check out Turkey every time you leave the hotel is supposed to leave it with the front desk and the ladies I believe it's only levels eight and nine uh can only be accessed with uh the key so the males cannot access those floors at all, hence safe for ladies + ladies get a separate floor for showering so males and females won't meet except in the lift + Inside the sleeping capsule you have a typical two pin Japanese plug with a USB A charging port, no USB C + It is a household that you are not allowed to use any alarms so take note if you need to wake up early + The lounge area is for you to eat You are not supposed to eat in bedroom or your capsule. They have a microwave with a hot water dispenser and a dispenser for coffee and a few other drinks of sorts. I did not use it so I do not know the options. They have like magazines for you to read the lounge seats have our charging ports for you and Wi-fi is available which is the same floor as the showering room - the 2 private capsules are side by side and separated by a thin board, so I could hear snoring from the neighbour. if it matters, the x16 unit's bed is located on the lower deck while the x15 unit is on the upper deck - the thing i find most inconvenient are the toilets. male toilets are on B1 and only serviced by 1 lift shared with the 10 floors. There are no stairs so you don't have an option to climb then the basin on the floor that it's only available from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM after which you are not allowed to use it at all there are about five to six cubicles puff law with the S uh sitting toilet that has been dead and a small wash basin but there's no soap dispenser so you cannot wash your hands with soap you can just wash your hands but there's no soap if you want to wash your hands with soap you need to go down all the way to basement one to do so. - There is a supposed fan capsule charming is quite loud and I don't really feel any wind from it so I actually turned it off It's initially a bit warm but uh as the night goes past it uh it's actually quite cooling but it might take a while for people who take a while to cool down

Suspected Data Breach and Compromised Personal Information I suspect there may have been a data breach, resulting in my personal information being compromised. I informed both Agoda and the hotel after receiving three WhatsApp messages from two non-Japanese phone numbers (one from the UK and one from Peru), asking me to verify my booking information through links provided in the messages. I have not received any response to the email I sent to the hotel. An Agoda chat agent confirmed that my stay was booked and confirmed, and that Agoda was not aware of the phone numbers involved and would investigate the matter. However, I have yet to receive any further updates from either Agoda or the hotel regarding this potentially serious security issue.

1. Showers are open stalls and in front of mirrors. Not only does that maximize showing your naked body to the room while you shower, you also watch yourself shower. 2. There is nowhere to change, you literally have to do it in the open, regardless of where in the hotel you are (locker area, floor bathroom, or shower/vanity area) 3. We traveled as a group, 2 females 2 females. We, the two women of the group, paid more for our capsules than the other two. Other than some extra soaps or lotions available in the vanity area, we didn't get any extra amenity or anything significantly different than our male companions. If I'm paying more money to be safe from men, that's ridiculous. If, in the case of safety, men are the primary perpetrators, then they should be paying more. Not the women. It's not my fault I'm not safe. 4. Since there are specific floors for women that men can't access, if i was in the elevator and going to a floor for women and a man entered the elevator, it automatically undid my floor request like I was never there. If they're policing floors to that degree, have 2 elevators. 5. We traveled as a mixed gendered group and we knew the floors would be separate but wanted the capsule experience. There was nowhere other than the main lobby for mixed meeting. Once arriving in the hotel, we literally couldn't see our friends without leaving the hotel. 6. Laundry is 700 yen per load, which is far more than I've seen elsewhere. I don't know about anyone else, but if only 100 yen coins are accepted then it should be easier than going to the main floor for change. Especially given the difficulty in using the elevator to begin with
