    I recommend staying at Marikoji Inn. We stayed in the Kinkakuji Room and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious, and we especially loved having our own small Japanese garden and Tatami room, which made the stay feel very calm and special. The inn is very close to Kyoto University, which is why we initially chose the location, but it’s also easy to reach other parts of Kyoto by bus or train. There are also convenience stores, pharmacies, and restaurants nearby, making everything very convenient. I would definitely recommend this stay if you want to experience Kyoto without the crowds and rush of the city center. It’s a peaceful and comfortable place to stay.

    - staff were kind in acommodating my late check in - room has a fridge, freezer, microwave, water heater, terrace with seating area - coffee and tea provided in the room - very good location, just a 5 minute walk from the Kyoto University main campus - exceptionally clean with daily housekeeping - quiet because it is not close to any major road - small hotel with just a few rooms, which means even more quiet - would be glad to stay here again!

    The staff were all friendly and kind. They arranged the room so warmly and in a clean manner. I really enjoyed the stay.
