    Spent a one -day self-pampering stay at the onsen hotel. Staff is welcoming and came to pick us up from and drop us off at the train station. The dinner and breakfast menus were extensive and delicious. Enjoyed the in-room onsen BUT do lower the bamboo screen as I realised there’s a road opposite the room, a short distance away, where people could intrude into your privacy if they use a pair of binoculars. Room is also huge and spacious.

    My husband and I stayed here for a night for our honeymoon trip. I wish we had booked a longer stay because the setting, staff and accommodations were honestly mind blowing. It was easy to drive there from the middle of Osaka and not difficult to approach by public transport either. We arrived late and the staff came out to greet us and help us to get checked in so we could sit down to dinner right away. The amenities in the room we had were next level. The yukata was premium and very cozy to wear around the room and dining area. Please consider this for your next ryokan stay.

The minibar is well-stocked with a variety of drinks for guests to enjoy. One of the highlights of this ryokan is the public bath, which offers a stunning view and is not crowded. The room and bed are spacious, providing a comfortable stay for guests. Additionally, the ryokan's convenient location near the Takedao JR station makes it easily accessible. Guests can also explore an abandoned railway and tunnel in the vicinity, adding an element of adventure to their stay. During our visit, the ryokan was adorned with beautiful red leaves, enhancing the picturesque surroundings. While dining options are limited in the area, guests are encouraged to savor the Kaiseki dinner at the ryokan for a delightful culinary experience. Although I did not partake in this during my stay, the breakfast was also delicious and satisfying. Overall, Takedao Onsen Koyokan Bettei Azalee is a fantastic choice for those looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. Whether you're looking to relax in the onsen, explore the surrounding area, or enjoy the beautiful scenery, this ryokan has something for everyone.
