Just next to Nagaoka station. Room was spacious and the room we had, had both the view of the city and the mountains in the background. Staff were nice, helpful, and very accommodating.

This may be the best hotel in Nagaoka, room and toilet is spacious.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. Provide Air Filter/ Humidifier, it is very dry during winter.
2. Breakfast choice of food is exactly the same everyday, i would have stayed longer if not for this shortcoming.

Single rooms are a bit small, but that's Japan. I got one that seemed to have been refurbished this time around and was a bit nicer. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, although they are a bit overzealous when it comes to chasing 'guests' out at 9:30 after breakfast service ends. Again, that's just Japan though. Rules are rules. Guest facilities are a bit limited. There doesn't seem to be a spa or fitness center which are usually givens for bigger hotels in Japan these days. There is a bar and also some drinks vending machines on the 5th floor. Breakfast is of a good standard with a selection of Japanese and Western breakfast items available. The scrambled eggs are exceptional and are almost worth the stay in themselves. Location is very handy for the trains although the hotel is on the dead side of the JR station which is looking a bit sad and rundown. The other side of the station is much livelier. All in all, nothing exceptional for the price but a pleasant place to stay nonetheless.
