Lalys Residency - Rooms

Stayed recently at Laly’s Residency, Thrissur. The rooms are located only on the second floor, while the rest of the building houses a hypermarket, food court, textiles, and other commercial outlets. The property is on the highway, so accessibility is decent. However, parking management is extremely poor. Although the entire complex operates under the same brand, the designated parking for hotel guests is located away from the rooms, forcing guests to manage luggage on their own. There was constant confusion regarding parking, and the most irritating incident was when the reception called our room at early hours while our family was asleep (including a child), asking us to move our car so hypermarket visitors could park. The hypermarket was not even open at that time, and this disturbance was completely unnecessary. Rooms are average. There seems to be an attempt to give a premium feel, but it clearly fails due to lack of maintenance. Floors and furniture require better cleaning. Basic room preparation needs improvement—toiletries were incomplete, set-top boxes were not checked or recharged, and body wash was not refilled properly. The worst part of the stay was the food. It was shocking to experience such poor food quality in Kerala. Evening snacks did not seem fresh and were excessively oily. Tea and cold coffee tasted very bad. We were genuinely worried about stomach issues while travelling with a child. Breakfast was just manageable at best. The hotel rooms share food service with the restaurant below, yet the rooms do not come with complimentary breakfast. Raising concerns with the restaurant staff showed no interest in correcting the issues. Also, Swiggy is not available in this location, limiting food options. Overall, unless there is an absolute necessity to stay at this location, I would strongly suggest avoiding this property.
