The property is in need of major renovation and a more guest-focused management approach. I booked the Royal Suite, but the welcome experience was among the poorest I have had. Despite arriving after the official check-in time, I waited with my young children for over an hour and had to call several times for updates. No acknowledgment, apology, or gesture was offered during the wait. The Royal Suite itself was in poor condition and had no welcome amenities. My daughter was excited to use the swimming pool, but guests are only allowed to wear hotel-approved swimwear, which must be purchased at the property. This is unlike other 5-star hotels. The pool was also dirty most of the time. The in-villa dining food quality was poor and excessively salty. The Front Office team requires significant training in customer service, upselling, and call handling. Before booking through Agoda, I called the hotel directly but was told the hotel was sold out. I was also told that if Agoda showed availability, I should book online, after which the call was disconnected. Looking back, I should have chosen another property. The only positive aspect of my stay was the security team, who appeared to be doing more guest relations work than the actual guest service team. There is much more I could say, but this review is already long enough.

The resort is located at a considerable height, and reaching it can be challenging for anyone who is not comfortable driving on mountain roads. However, the resort does provide drivers who can take your car safely to the parking area if you call them in advance. Although the property is advertised as a four-star chain resort, the in-room amenities did not meet those expectations. Basic toiletries such as dental kits, shaving kits and clippers were not available in the room and had to be requested separately. Even the hair dryer was available only on demand, and the one provided was in poor condition. For a property of this category, such essentials should ideally be placed in every room. The rooms were clean, and the staff was courteous, helpful and polite throughout our stay. The view from the property is truly beautiful and is undoubtedly one of its strongest features. However, the food was average and did not meet expectations. The baby corn dish we ordered à la carte was undercooked, while the chilli paneer was also quite ordinary. Overall, the food quality and taste could be improved significantly. One more point for travellers planning a visit during May or June: since Jeolikot is comparatively lower in altitude, the weather may still feel warm and sunny, especially for visitors coming from the plains. We travelled from Varanasi and did not experience much of a temperature difference during the day. The weather was slightly better at night, but not particularly chilly. Those looking for cooler mountain weather may prefer staying at a higher altitude. Overall, the property has a lovely view, clean rooms and courteous staff, but the amenities, food quality and location may not suit every traveller.
