Ona Valle Romano Golf & Resort

We stayed for one week, in a top floor 2bed apartment with a huge, wrap-around balcony. Views were lovely and the location is very quiet. We had breakfast included and there was always a good selection of foods available. The hotel is big but nicely sectioned to make it feel smaller. It is a bit of a maze in the beginning until you get your bearings! We walked into Estepona marina each evening, which was about 7km away. Portions of the road don’t have footpaths and it may feel a bit intimidating when you get to the motorway and there’s no fly-over or paths for pedestrians. The biggest downside for me with this hotel is the amount of sun-beds available by the pool. There are 3 pools and we always went to one nearest to our apartment. There were 12 sun-beds, so each morning it meant queuing for 30-40 mins to be first in the queue and sometimes people just disregarded who was ahead of them! The space around the pool is somewhat restricted but more sun-beds could certainly be provided. The space in the apartment was great, with a separate living area, and it was cleaned once while we were there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel but you probably need a car and be prepared for battles to claim a sun bed!

First of all, thank you to the ladies at the reception for an excellent welcome, with a smile on their faces. The complex is located in a superb natural setting. The apartment is clean, large and warm. Breakfast was amazing. I really liked the vegetables. Congratulations to the chef. Thank you to Mrs. Irina for a successful vacation. We will come back with great pleasure!

The house was very dusty, cutleries stinks , heating doesn't work and bedsheets were dusty looks like room was vacant for long time. Wrong room was assigned, I had to request for mountain view even though I had booked mountain view room. My wife fell sick because of dust allergy. The sofa was very dirty

Starting with positive - spacious apartment but that’s where all positives end. Advertised free parking but it’s €12 per night , free is on street which is not available or if available then it’s up the hill 400m. Advertised non smoking rooms but someone was smoking inside for at least last 20 years as all walls and furniture are full of nicotine and tar smell. When asked for room with normal air I got explanation that all rooms are with that smell as people are smoking on balconies and leave doors open. I received cleaning kit voucher to collect from on site mini market but of course they don’t have it. In the morning they told me to come in the afternoon which I did but they closed it at 6pm until staff finishes eating sandwich. Third attempt 30 min later they told me to come back on Monday (happening on Saturday) meaning 3 days out of 5 that I stay here I won’t get any cleaning kit. Staff is not helpful but giving you silly reasons, manager on duty doesn’t exist over weekend. Furniture in rooms outdated, towels are more like sanding paper than towels. Breakfast buffet is poor quality, Gym is ridiculous and non functional for such big place. Very disappointing and would not recommend to anyone. BTW 4 star should not be even 1 star as some basic things are overlooked here.
