We used the room to rest during a long layover between our flights It's clean and has a good shower. Its very conveniently located about a 2min walk from Metro Line 2 which connects directly to the airport. It takes about 1h10m on the metro to get to airport and cost around 1USD. You can tap your credit card to pay the metro.
There are some.good cheap eats around and its about a 10min walk to the Promenade at the Bund and a 30min walk to a river cruise. For us it was the perfect fit.
The value for money is unbeatable.

The fish inn staff stole some items out of my bag, the bed was ridiculously hard and uncomfortable. The beer from the downstairs reception was lukewarm....the coffee machine was never available.
The room WiFi was pathetically slow and the shower facilities leaked water everywhere and had not been cleaned in decades.....
The location was reasonable and central for trains and access to the bund but not worth the cost.
I regularly travel so this was a major disappointment, especially having things stolen out of my luggage.....

I booked two rooms for three nights for a family of five (parents and three kids). Great hotel, everything is exceptional. Most of all, the staff is wonderful. Mr. Shen (daytime manager, I assume) is very helpful. He knew I had a kid in my room, so he upgraded one of my rooms. I also left my laptop at my previous hotel, and he helped me contact the hotel, talk to them, and I got my laptop back. My next trip is to Beijing, and I needed something arranged at my Beijing hotel; Mr. Shen also contacted that hotel. Mr. Shen is very nice, helpful, and humble. Next year I have another trip to Shanghai; for sure, I will stay here again. Thank you, Fish Inn (funny name yet great hotel), thank you, Mr. Shen!
