Mostly a Perfect stay. Only one small problem some over zealous staff member wouldn't let us eat out on the Sun Lounge era at Sunset for my gals birthday - over some silly internal rule over Bar vs Restaurant food being served there. We eventually just dined in town over the kerfuffle - otherwise staff and facilities were great and hotel five stars

Check-in was easy and friendly, though there was no recognition of me as a returning guest. Not a major issue, but a simple “welcome back” would go a long way. The pool experience was where things started to fall short. There’s no service, so you have to walk quite a distance to order drinks. Even more confusing, when I reached the bar I was told to go to the other side to order because that’s where the till was—despite it being the same bar. It felt unnecessarily inconvenient and not very customer-focused. There also appeared to be only one wine decanter available for the pool, which became a bit of a scramble to locate. On one occasion, I returned to order another bottle only to find the doors locked, and had to wait until a staff member noticed and let me in. Breakfast was okay. The smashed avocado wasn’t quite what I expected, though still decent. The weekend buffet had a great selection, but the food could have been hotter. Ordering coffee was another friction point—staff were hard to get hold of, and I was abruptly redirected by the restaurant manager to order elsewhere before he later apologised. Again, it felt harder than it needed to be. Dinner was generally good, although the eye fillet was quite dry, which was disappointing given the $69 price point. On a positive note, one of the waitresses (an older staff member) was fantastic—engaging, attentive, and a real highlight of the experience. The grounds themselves are immaculate, although I was surprised to see rubbish still on the lawn on Sunday evening following a wedding the day before. It does raise questions about attention to detail. Rooms are excellent overall, though the pillows were quite hard and not particularly comfortable. I would definitely return for the setting and facilities—it’s a great place. However, after three stays now, there’s a clear opportunity to lift the service experience to match the quality of the resort.
