Cullen Bay Resort

Stayed here for 3 nights. Position great. We were on 8th floor with great views. Pool great but could do with umbrellas for shade. Close to bus stop and restaurants. Everything you need in room from slow cooker to air fryer

The location was good, but the beds were really uncomfortable to sleep in, and a very tight fit for a family with 3 young kids. We had the apartment on the bottom floor, and while that was safe enough I didn’t like that random people from the units next door could walk onto our section of the balcony, in front of our bedroom and living area. The room could be done with a better clean too. Next time I’d spend a bit more money to ensure a good nights sleep 😅

This place is about 2km from the City Centre, tucked into the pretty Cullen Bay area. There's a bunch of good restaurants (4-5 of them) right at the Marina, just a 5-minute walk away, plus a lovely stretch of beach nearby for a stroll. The reception area's got you covered with plenty of soft drinks and snacks too. That said, the apartment itself is pretty dated and basic you can see. My room was fine but had this strong musty smell that just wouldn't budge, even with the balcony door open. Bigger issue though: the balcony is shared, one long corridor running past 10-12 rooms with zero separation. So there's no real privacy or safety unless you keep your door and curtains shut, which means sitting in the dark. Basically anyone could walk the length of the balcony and see straight into every room. Also noticed a few wooden floor tiles missing, and no tissue box in the room. Strictly 2.5 start budget hotel. Still, compared to other hotels going for *** minimum, *** a night felt like decent value — just know going in that it's a solid 2.5 stars, not more.
