Villa Howden was a beautiful villa to stay at, really wish we could of had a couple of days here. Hopefully will return again very soon.

We arrived to find we were the only two people booked in and wanting dinner. The chef after a busy mother's day high tea remained back for us

Villa Howden was beautiful… Once. It’s like a supermodel that got old. It has great bones, and the antique furniture is amazing. We stayed in the Tower room, which we had to upgrade to (they did us a great deal at only $30/nt more than our original booking) - because our first room was diabolical. Ground floor, tired, with a makeshift bathroom. I’ve stayed at better roadside motels….. but the tower room took our breath away. Gorgeous sitting area, chandelier, free standing bath, fireplace and French windows. But once we looked a little closer, the black mould, water damage ceiling, and absence of basic maintenance took the shine off. The staff are lovely but lack basic hotel management skills. The breakfast tables and chairs frequently carried crusted food from the night before, drink glassware and bottles left in the common seating areas, garden needing attention, awnings frayed and torn, swimming pool littered with leaf debris and neglect. This place could be magnificent, and that’s why I’m disappointed.
