The house was very cute, well-decorated, clean and comfortable. It was a good amount of space for a small family. It's on a beautiful property with huge oak trees. There was a full kitchen, I appreciated the clean fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker and kitchen table. Check-in was easy, just use a door code to get in. The space-heater fire place was a nice touch on cold mornings. The internet was very good.
The coffee pod maker didn't work - the brew was very watery, not drinkable. We ended up buying coffee grounds to use in the traditional coffee maker. The road the house was on, though not busy, is a highway so people are driving very fast and you can hear the traffic. The location is a bit hard to find at night, I recommend getting to the house in daylight. The air freshener used was overwhelming, we had to air out the house a bit.

The property was well kept and very easy to access as it is right off the highway (yet road noise was not a problem.)
Everything was clean and comfortable and was a good value since you have two bedrooms, one bathroom and a fully functioning kitchen. Also like the proximity to old Micanopy, which was charming.
It’s not so much that I didn’t like it but, I was unprepared for the abundance of small green frogs in the area, especially since we arrived at night. I was just concerned, not wanting to step on them or have them jump into the house when opening the door. Luckily, neither happened!

The country cottage was close to Paynes Prairie Preserve and the historic downtown of Micanopy, FL. Centrally located between Gainesville and Ocala. Owner responded when I let him know there was no running warm/hot water in the bathroom shower/bath. I was offered an additional night stay for my issue and offered to take a shower at another rental property in the area, but that was inconvenient and uncomfortable for me- (1) because I had to work the next day and (2) I did not desire to stay another night where there was no proper shower/bath that had warm water! I couldn't wait to get home to take a nice hot shower in my own bathroom. I was not offered a partial refund when I mentioned it, which would have been the right thing to do. I settled for a later check-out so I had more time to see the area before heading home.
(1) NO RUNNING HOT WATER IN THE BATHROOM! This was a major issue, considering you are renting a home space for additional comfort, and I was outdoors all day for both days of my stay. The rentals should be inspected after each guest to make sure everything is working accordingly prior to the next guest arrival. It had been mentioned in other reviews that there was low water pressure and it takes a long time to get warm water running and that warm water doesn't last long once running, but it never got even like warm for me. After several attempts and feeling like I was wasting water, I gave up. I used the kitchen sink to wash up/take a sponge bath & wash my hair. (2) Difficult to sleep being so close to the street hearing all the cars on the road (and more uncomfortable without a descent shower/bath). (3) The microwave was over the top of the refrigerator. Very unsafe! One can;t even see what's being heated so high up & hot food could easily fall over someone. (4) Not very well stocked with kitchen items or cooking supplies, as many other rental homes I've stayed at over the years are.
