The Gin Palace with cozy logburner

Beautiful location, very peaceful. The host John was so friendly and helpful, could not fault him.

Spiders. My daughter is terrified of spiders and there were quite a few in each room, to be expected in that kind of place. Would not put me off going back.

The location is very nice if you want peace and quiet. Nice area to sit outside overlooking countryside and outdoor swimming pool. Quirky little property.

Had an issue with electrics which blew a couple of times, host sorted it but not ideal as unable to use all sockets in property. Needs a little more attention to detail with regards to cleanliness. Cobwebs, dusty areas throughout, windows need cleaning inside and out.

Quirky nature, clean, great location, very helpful host ( John). Pool a bonus and an option. The artifacts throughout the Gin Palace are amazing - even Custer’s pistol! Never had a chandelier in my bedroom before !

My 84 year old 5ft wife found getting into bed on a double mattress difficult and as the bed was against the wall not easy in the night to arise without waking the other. Should be too difficult to fix John.

Well, where can I start ? There are very mixed reviews on here, and I want to be completely honest. The palace was dusty and dirty throughout , and many pictures proved this. To have no running hot water to wash our hands and cutlery and plates are very basic, and to me, should always be provided. The house is very cold , the wood burner is cosy but once you move to the bathroom, kitchen or bedroom it's cold. The oil filled radiators do not give much heat either and will eat up your coins you have to put in the meter. . I loved the location and host, but because of the facilities and cleanliness, we decided to leave a day early . Very disappointed overall. SORRY JOHN
