The chalet also has 2 bathrooms and a laundry room with a stove. The heating is remotely controlled.
The Chalet de l’Alpage is equipped with lounge chairs and an outdoor table with a parasol, as well as a ski storage area depending on the season.
Hiking trails start right from the chalet, and there is direct access to the Nid d’Aigle and the Col du Voza in both winter and summer via the Mont Blanc tramway; the station is a 15-minute walk away.
Tennis courts and the St. Gervais pool are just a 5-minute drive away.
Ski Area 1: The Saint-Gervais-Le Bettex gondola station is a 5-minute drive (1.5 km) away. Le Bettex is part of the famous Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area. 420 km of trails between Megève, Saint-Gervais, and Saint-Nicolas de Véroce! It’s the third-largest ski area in France, with trails for all skill levels and breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc massif.
This ski area is very family-friendly, especially since everything is designed to accommodate children and toddlers as best as possible. It’s clearly one of the best ski areas in France, offering both leisurely runs on long slopes through the pine trees and more challenging runs like L’Épaule or Mont Joly. The après-ski scene is great in this ski area, which offers plenty of spots to stop and eat.
Ski Area 2: Saint-Gervais / Les Houches via the Mont-Blanc Tramway—the chalet is located below the Plancert ski run in the Les Houches/St-Gervais ski area. It’s possible to ski right back to the chalet by taking a trail below Plancert, which isn’t groomed. (This depends, of course, on snow conditions.) You can also ski from the house across the alpine pastures to the Mont-Blanc Tramway station, which serves this ski area. (This depends on snow conditions and is reserved for experienced skiers, as the slope is steep. The final stretch often involves carrying your skis on your back for 5 minutes—again, this depends on snow conditions.)
In any case, the tram station is a 5-minute drive away.
For those who enjoy ski touring, you can also ascend on skins directly to the Plancert ski lift, which is 1 km further up the Route du Prarion, but it’s quite a workout since there’s a 250-meter elevation gain…
If you’re traveling with children, we recommend the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area (Area 1)
