You will be living in a basement, while the owners walk directly above you — just over two meters ab

Well, it is the city

The description does not match reality. Some of the photos show views from the host’s own living space, not from the so-called "apartment". This is a basement! The space is located below ground level. The house is not a two-story home, as the owner claimed — it is a one-story wooden garden house with a basement where several bedrooms have been arranged. Your bed will be approximately two meters below ground. Some of the rooms have no windows at all. This is essentially a storage space with beds. The ceiling is very low — if you’re tall, you can easily touch it with your hand. Constant footsteps from the host’s family can be heard above, along with some debris falling. The host’s children will walk around and look down on you from above because you are literally in a pit, while they are above. There is no ventilation. In the event of fire or smoke, you would not be able to exit safely, as there are no proper windows suitable for a residential space. Serious doubts arise as to whether this space meets any safety or habitability standards. Nowhere in the listing is it disclosed that this is a basement. I voiced my concerns to the owner and clearly stated that, due to safety concerns and the misleading listing — particularly the fact that it was not disclosed that the space is a basement — I could not stay. The request for a refund was denied. It should be mentioned that this is the basement.
