Clover Lodge, Hot Tub, Wi-Fi

It was beautiful. Light, airy, clean and spacious. The location was wonderful for quiet stays in a beautiful nature-filled area. We went on the lake (paddle boards and sit-on kayak) nearby, visited the small cafe through the small walk in the woods and enjoyed lots of walks around the lake. We sat outside and had a bbq and used the hot tub every day. It was fantastic. In the evening we loved watching the tiny rabbits bobbing around and one night we even saw a beautiful little hedgehog and a door mouse!! Amazing. Close to a nice local pub, The Clovelly Inn (I think?) 40 mins to lovely attractions and beaches. We visited The Devils Cauldron and had breakfast in Inkie's Smokhouse, Bude, Jamaica Inn, Tintagel... all very lovely :) Would recommend. Very quiet and safe and convenient, good instructions and lovely woman who I dealt with on the phone. Everything worked very well, all modern and very very convenient.We loved it!

The plates, cups, glasses etc. weren't very clean and we had to rewash them - probably due to the dishwasher- so not germs but just marked and needed rewashing. Also tiny suggestion - add more mugs for avid tea drinkers :) One saucepan had a VERY loose handle and we were very lucky when the tye saucepan gave way but we had just finished serving hot food. Otherwise it could have really hurt one of us. We fixed this. We found the bath tub hard to get in and out of (to shower) as it was quite slippery- would suggest installation of a small rail. Also the shower screen caused a lot of puddling on the floor, also slippery. But the ensuite shower was lovely! Little scuffs here and there, but expected and lots of spiders, but again expected because of the nice weather and high ceilings (we understand that they can be controlled nor taken down as it's too high)- not really a complaint.

This is a beautiful lodge and feels very spacious for 5 of us and 2 dogs. It has two sofas and an outdoor patio as well as a hot tub. The lodge is in a lovely location and it is very peaceful and is next to Roadford lake to walk the dogs . The activity centre nearby is great for kayaking, paddle boarding and there is a lovely cafe 2 minutes walk away with overlooks the lake .

The weather was very hot and the lodge is very warm - take fans. The patio area would benefit from a. umbrella as it was very hot in the morning. As a heads up if you are taking dogs they are not allowed in the lake due to dangerous algae
