From the pool area…step down onto Praia Formosa Beach, a locals-only spot. Look left and see the cave connecting to a 5km promenade for walks or running. Beach side restaurants are a 5min walk to the right. Fresh bakery and fruit only a 5 min walk. Long “Levada walk” very close by. Airport shuttle takes you directly to the apartment from airport if needed. Relaxation awaits…

This is a very dated, but clean apartment. You can't beat the value and the location, which definitely outweighed the inconveniences for us. It was very hot at nights, but overall a very pleasant stay.
Pros:
- outstanding location right on the beach. 20 minutes to the airport, 15 to downtown Funchal w/o traffic by car.
- dated, but very clean apartment, sheets and dishes
- easy walk to the oceanic pool and a cool rock tunnel
- long promenade and a bar downstairs
- also dated, but decent pool
- espresso and vending machines downstairs
- minutes to the mall and stores (by car)
- next door cat visits on a regular basis
- unbeatable value for the price
- easy check in and good and prompt communication with the management
Cons:
- no A/C -- the only thing you can do when it's hot is open the door and hope that the breeze goes through, but it doesn't often. Only fan is in the small bedroom, otherwise there is nothing at all to move the air... even the stove exhaust is broken
- no dishwasher, but that's reflected in the price
- the property page says check out is 11, but we were told to leave by 10
- next door cat visits on a regular basis and steals things

If you like the sound of waves crashing on one side and birds on the other, this is the place to be. The photos and descriptions can not do it justice. The view and the area is unlike the rest of Madeira. Beautiful resort/longterm family living, outdoor view, board walk all along the beach, close to natural pools, local food/drinks, direct bus transfer to and from airport makes a very easy journey. Reception staff were very attentive and friendly. Would love to stay there again.
