Finest Retreats - Valley Cottage

Lovely cottage in a peaceful village location within easy walking distance if a pub with food, shop and cafe. The biscuits provided were delicious.

On the first morning the heating didn't come on but the instructions provided enable us to get it going. We would have taken our own firewood for the woodburner if we had known we needed to.

Whilst the property had lots of equipment there were some essential items missing such as washing up liquid, tea towels, oven gloves and spare toilet rolls. Whilst I expect to bring certain items the fact that there was only a tiny amount of toilet paper in. Each bathroom was a surprise. I’d at least expect one full roll in each room. Again, in the kitchen the lack of oven gloves and t towels was a surprise. If these items are not provided it would be useful to know but we were not told this. These seem unusual items to be missing. The pathway outside was extremely slippery which was a challenge for the over 70 member of our group.

Really disappointed with the garden , for such a lovely cottage , the garden is unloved, unkept, such a shame as it wouldnt take much effort. Quite a few cobwebs in cottage missed on cleaning. Odd bulbs out. Bunting left up which is out of date .
