Really lovely little cottage. Has everything you could need-not just the basics. I felt looked after.
Nothing really. If I was to be really picky I’d say the log burner is gas rather than a real flame but that works if you are feeling lazy!

Cozy comfortable cottage ideal for spending Christmas
Noise levels from the upper floor. Very poor noise reduction unfortunately when people were just walking about and talking.

Had everything you needed and was cosy, loved the coffee pods & nice touch re toiletries.
Access to the property was quite poor and some distance from the designated car parking area. Pathway very uneven & difficult when loading & unloading luggage.

Very well equiped and laid out.
Very generous provision of things a lot of places would never give or leave in a property; tea, coffee, biscuits, range of coffee pods; foil and cling film; tissues and toiletries.
Excellent location for exploring the lakes.
The food at the Sun Inn, two minutes walk away was excellent
It's an older property and part of a larger building and sound from the other apartments can intrude-woken up in the morning by people next door walking on the floors above our bedrooms and talking moderately loudly.

Lovely old historic cottage, in an excellent location. Johanna provided many personal touches to make this a very comfortable stay including coffee pods, herbs and spices, well equipped kitchen, clothes airer, very comfortable clean beds. There was a compendium with all sorts of handy information about the region.
Clothes dryer would have been helpful, but not essential.

We loved how cosy the cottage was! We were very comfortable and didn’t want for anything while we were there. Tastefully decorated and very well equipped for everything you would need. The little walk from the car park to the cottage is so cute and it feels like a very authentic Lake District experience to stay in a historical part of the area. We managed to explore lots of the nearby sights very easily as the location is ideal.
The parking area was very tight, as to be expected. You need to be very careful if your car is low to the ground as the ground is all sloped.

Lovely, quaint, well equipped, little cottage for a short family trip to the lakes. Welcomed our dogs too!Slightly difficult to find as you can’t actually drive to it (for any future bookings) the rain cleared up the second day it was a relaxing peaceful break close to Windermere and Bowness.
Clean property perfect size and location, would definitely book again
Tiny size ironing board ;) not a deal breaker though

Spacious living room/kitchen and comfortable sofa/chairs. Easy parking any apart from a little road noise very quiet. Less than 5 minutes to walk to a shop and/or pub. 2 minutes drive to petrol station and easy for walking dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
The noise at times from upstairs was loud, no one's fault and it's not a complaint but it's an issue that can be resolved with today's modern materials even on a listed building. The parking was fine but anyone with a lot of luggage would struggle on the walk because of the way neighbours park. The plants etc around signage could be trimmed and the TV needs things like Netflix updated as it liked to tell us.

Absolutely loved the cottage, fantastic scenery, perfect location and great for families. A stones throw away from the idyllic town of Windermere, everything in reach and on your doorstep. The views of the mountains were splendid.
Could have been cleaner! The blanket on the sofa was the worst part - it absolutely stunk of dogs! The bath was dirty, the kitchen sponge was dirty and used, not new. The coffee table had ring marks on it, which were sticky, so clearly hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival. The parking was difficult to find, but when we did, it was super tight for our Navara truck to navigate, which was interesting!! Also the twin bedroom door didn't shut properly? The toilet seat was broken, and the tv was a bit dated.

Lovely cottage, brilliant facilities! Amazing location and met the owner who was lovely. Very cosy. Had a lovely stay, very dog friendly, and extra personal touches all over which were much appreciated.
If you don't know the location like we do it is very near the main road but you cannot hear this in the cottage. And the path too the cottage requires some good footing, this is not a downside it's just a warning.

The cottage was in a lovely location, convenient to visit the rest of the Lake District. We loved how old it was with the lovely oak beams and old features maintained. It was really cosy. The owner left lovely little touches like coffee, milk, tea and chocolate drinks. We had a dog with us and it was nice to see the welcoming signs such as dog bowls, blankets and treats. The information about the surrounding areas and places to explore were helpful and thoughtful.
Perhaps the instructions for parking could be a little clearer with a clearer map. The sign for our parking was covered over with weeds so we could not see it initially and had to ring the owners.

The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and really well presented. Made to feel welcome
The noise from the people in the accommodation above started at 4.30 am and continued both sat and Sunday morning so not quite the restful break we hoped for. We paid more staying here rather than an hotel because we thought it would be quieter. Our kids are teenagers so jyst grumpy at being woken so early but they did think the creaking floorboards above could scare younger kids if woken up. Wouldn’t stay again for this reason. Don’t know if we were just unlucky that weekend.

cleanliness and it is just next to the gas station so anytime you need anything, you can just cross the road and buy in the gas station.

gorgeous property, beautifully decorated and lovely to stay in. will have to stay in the winter to get some use out of the log burner. Johanna was so helpful and prompt at responding.

The location was fabulous. Very near to Windermere and Bowness and a short drive to Ambleside and Grasmere.
The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the radiator didn’t work.

The property is old and very attractive, comfortable and in a good location - easy access into Windermere. The kitchen is very well equiped and the wifi worked well. The apartment heated up quickly and was very cosy. The biscuits we were given on arrival were much appreciated. We had lovely meals at The Sun pub and Hooked - both of which were in the list of recommendations.
Unfortunately, the apartment hadn't been cleaned properly. There were food scraps under the bowl in the sink and there was underwear left in the basket in the bedside cupboard. Visitors need to be aware that noise from the upstairs property can be irritating - we were woken at 6am each morning by a baby, which didn't particularly bother us but might affect others - and some of the noise is not easily mitigated due to old, creaky floorboards. Other suggestions: more coat hangers in the wardrobes, a much larger clothes drying rack (the current one is woefully inadequate if a full load of washing needs to be dried), provide bath/shower soap in the bathroom and a more plentiful supply of toilet rolls (we ran out). We arrived at night and, because of that, the instructions were hard to follow (in particular, we couldn't see when we reached "the pink house" - it might be better to mention the petrol station).

Lovely cosy cottage. Had nice touches to welcome our stay.
Shame the fire wasn't able to be lit.

Accommodation was beautiful, clean and cosy.
As the house is split in 2, with other people renting out the cottage upstairs you can hear everything with them moving around and if they are inconsiderate can hear every word when they speak. The door at the bottom of the stairs is not sealed so the people upstairs tend to spy on you.
