The positives are that the apartment block is nice, the grounds are kept well, the pool is lovely with lots of grass and shade available and nice views. The apartment has a nice view over to sea and Calella de Palafrugell. It's a bit impeded by a building in front but on the whole a nice view. You are close the town and restaurant and beaches. It is just a 5-10 minute walk to get to the Spar shop and then a few minutes more to beaches etc. Callela de Palafrugell is pretty and we enjoyed it. The sea is clear and it was nice to swim in. The pool area was great and peaceful.

The apartment is described as 3 bedroom but was automatically set up as 2. There is a third bedroom (possibly with a pull down bed for small children but it wasn't set up so I don't know exactly. However when paying for 3 bedrooms we would like it set up as 3 bedrooms so we can decide how we use the rooms, rather than assuming our children will share etc. The apartment block is lovely and all around the other apartments are nicely furnished privately owned apartments. However this apartment is clearly furnished cheaply as a rental and doesn't have an awning, cheap plastic furniture on the balcony, ridiculously poor dining room chairs with the backs leaning and in fact so poor that my teenage child fell off one when the back gave way (others have been bolted together so clearly a known issue). The fridge wasn't working we realised on the first day. The one thing the owners have invested in is a management company at least. They were pleasant to deal with and did send someone to verify that the fridge wasn't working the following morning and replaced it with a standalone fridge freezer for the week we were there so it was a good work around but not ideal in first place> The apartment wasn't well cleaned on arrival with old food debris on floor between sofa etc, some ants. Again the management company did rectify this on asking and arranged for it to be fully cleaned within the first couple of days. Good work around but should have been cleaned properly before we arrived. The fixtures and fittings are cheap and cheaply installed, no sharp knives or kettle in the kitchen. There is nothing luxury about the apartment at all, didn't feel furnished to a high standard. There is no air con which was listed and fans were supplied which we moved around the rooms to give some relief from the heat but it was hot at night and not very comfortable. We didn't feel the standard matched the price paid at all. It's a shame.
