About this house rental
For your convenience, sheets and towels are provided.
The charm of the well and the courtyard/garden, with its unique location at the foot of the bell tower of Saint Etienne Church (an iconic landmark of the region), as well as the spectacular view of Mount Canigou (the mountain of the Catalans) make Le Casteil a unique place that was the setting for our childhood vacations. You can choose your own atmosphere on the large terraces between the bell tower and the Canigou and discover the joys of grilling on the plancha with family or friends
For sports: numerous hiking and mountain biking trails starting from Le Casteil are available to you.
For culture: Céret (5 km) The cherry capital and a leading center of the Cubist movement, frequented by Picasso, Juan Gris, Léger, and Chaïm Soutine, who appreciated the light of this southern city, with its Museum of Modern Art housing numerous paintings by Matisse, Picasso, Chagall, and Miró.
Also worth visiting are Figueras (40 km) and its famous Dalí Museum, or Cadaqués (70 km), where the artist’s home is located.
For relaxation: Lake Saint Jean Pla de Corts (4 km), nestled in lush greenery with Mount Canigou as a backdrop, supervised swimming (during the summer), as well as numerous recreational and sports activities, plus the Boulou Thermal Baths (5 km) and the Casino, or the beaches of the Côte Vermeille (25 km)—Argelès and Collioure. If you prefer, you can also go shopping in Spain at Le Perthus (7 km) or Perpignan (30 km), whose train station, according to Dalí, is "the center of the world."
Amenities at Le Casteil, nestled between the beaches of the Côte Vermeille and the Catalan mountains (5 to 10 people)
