We are a medieval castle in Umbria, in the small village of Izzalini surrounded by countryside near Todi. The flats are located on the ground floor and the 1st and 2nd floors of the castle. The various floors are reached by stairs as there is no lift in the castle.
The flats are located in the quietness of the castle walls and are furnished with care and elegance to make your stay pleasant and exclusive.
Each flat has parquet floors, precious bathrooms lined with Bisazza mosaics, fine upholstery and furniture, a living room with a fully equipped kitchenette, a sofa bed, satellite TV and a panoramic view.The flats are located on the ground floor and on the 1st and 2nd floors of the castle. The various floors are reached by stairs as there is no lift in the castle. Having maintained as much as possible the original features of the castle, in the flats there are steps joining the bathroom from the other rooms and steps leading to the kitchen and bedroom.
In the heart of the Tiber valley, just a few kilometres from the main roads, we are an excellent starting point for visiting Umbria and can organise tailor-made itineraries: rich in history and art (Assisi, Todi, Gubbio, Spoleto etc.); nature excursions (Cascata delle Marmore, Fonti del Clitunno, Lake Trasimeno and its islands etc.); not forgetting the high Umbrian tradition of food, wine and oil (Norcia, Trevi, Orvieto etc.). The nearest supermarket is Km.3 away.The pharmacy is Km.5 away.Todi the nearest city of art is Km.10 away.In Izzalini there is a bar, a restaurant, a bakery and an antiques market open only at weekends.
The castle has a long history dating back to the year 1000. In 1194 the walls were fortified when the mercenary captain Ezzelino da Romano took possession of it and turned it into a fortified castle.
