About the worst stay ever.

This apartment is in a good location close to the cathedral. There are plenty of restaurants and bars at your doorstep. It could use some updates. The pots and pans have peeling Teflon on the insides. We bought a skilllet to use. It has an air conditioner that will cool one room which was nice.

Sadly its cleanliness is subpar. Upon arrival there were sheets hung everywhere and the freezer was dirty. So, in our first 30 minutes, we are defrosting the freezer and folding somebody else’s sheets. We began itching within the first 3-4 days. I changed the sheets. More itching. After 10 days I made a doctors appointment. I had over 100 bites on me, all where my body was in contact with the mattress. This time I removed the sheets and discovered some black spots on the mattress and mattress cover. In fact the mattress cover was not washed after the previous long stay. Also all those sheets I folded were washed in cold water! The washer in the apartment is only hooked up to cold water. For the past 200 years at least we have known to wash bed linens in hot water. Cold water does not kill viruses, skin diseases or bed bugs. The doctor said the pattern of bites and heavy itching were indicative of bed bugs. The landlord wasted money on a dog to tell her otherwise. We moved out. The VERY FIRST NIGHT I did not sleep in that bed the itching was completely GONE. . We were not reimbursed for the two weeks of lost and miserable vacation time. Nor were we refunded for the time remaining, a loss of $1200€. The landlord thought we should pay for the dog and, most likely, based on that advice, did not steam clean the bed after our departure.

Superb

The place was perfectly close to the city center. It was easy to walk around and enjoy the beautiful town. Much history to see and also great bars around. The apartment was great in all the needed supplies and made it easy to communicate with the host as well.

Very nice place to stay. Location is great, very near to the river and cathedral. Surrounded by nice restaurants. Bus stop is 50 mt away.

It is at 4th floor with no elevator.

Close to the strasbourg main attractions, well equipped kitchen.

The air conditioner is one stand alone tube window unit that cannot keep up with summer heat. The apartment is also in the top story of the building, and 2 bedrooms are in the loft of the top story with some precarious stairs - so even more hot. The windows open at night let in some interesting smells from the restaurants/garbage below.

A bit hot in summer, but there was a ventilator, an air conditioner and many windows to let fresh air in.
