Overall lovely stay but experience could be improved

- Lovely green location, with easy access to nearby villages and beaches. - Clean and elegantly decorated property with spacious rooms and bathrooms - Well furnished and all needs taken care of except points below, but would definitely recommend

- Wasn’t informed that one of the showers in upper rooms is out of order. So upper floor only had a bath which wasn’t great. No one wants a bath everytime you need a quick shower. 4 adults had to share downstairs shower as a result - Third bedroom on the ground floor had two ungainly cots folded cramping the space. Ideally these should have been kept out of sight somwehere,rather than being kept in the smaller room thus making the room smaller for the couple using that room - Ideally a few extra cleaning/drying cloths to be provided as lower floor bathroom is a wet room

A fantastic spacious house in a great location for Broad Haven, Little Haven, Dale, Neyland and Pembroke. If you are not

The property was very clean, it was a great location for us with family in nearby Broad Haven. The kitchen was well equipped for meals and there was plenty of space for 5 adults and a baby. Garden was lovely with space to sit out and lovely to hear the bees in the lavender. Beds were very comfy!

Lack of WiFi and Signal but this did not bother us, we were quite happy off grid and signal could be obtained from just outside on the patio which suited us. Couple of niggles with the bathroom door not closing properly but this was communicated with Hafida who was very accommodating and took on board our comments, she couldn’t have been more helpful.

A comfortable, well equipped hideaway

A private and comfortable renovated property with stylish open-plan living/dining area/well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were comfortable, with plenty of cupboard space, and the main bedroom upstairs had an en suite featuring a designer bath.

Parking for two cars was a bit of a squeeze, but manageable.

A comfortable stay in a beautiful and peaceful location.

Syke Mill was a lovely property in a peaceful and very beautiful location. The house had very modern and clean furnishings, lots of equipment in the kitchen and was warm and cosy. There was plenty of space for all four of us and the outside area was also spacious with plenty of seating areas.

The only downside is that the property does not have wifi and any phone signal is patchy. You need to go outside the front door or up into the garden to get a signal.

Beautiful place in a deeply peaceful, rural setting

A beautiful property and much more spacious than the photos suggest. Syke Mill is, by Pembrokeshire standards, remote and therefore a haven of peace and quiet. Great facilities, a lovely garden and outdoor space, dark skies and easy proximity to the coast or interior.

The only obvious improvement would be the addition of wifi, which I understand is due to be installed soon. Being so rurally situated this is not such an easy proposition. There is a 5G signal to be had outdoors, but the property's thick walls meant that it couldn't be picked up from inside. I think so long as guests are aware, the situation is no problem. Think light-touch digital detox.

Lovely serene stay in the countryside

Beautiful quiet location with access to lovely walks and a fantastic garden for our dogs to run in. The beds were so comfy I didn’t want to leave it!

Generally a clean property but in hidden places like the oven and kitchen drawers it needed a wipe down. The oven unfortunately had some historical burnt bits which when turned on let out a burnt smell in the house. There was no WiFi or service in the property but I’ve been told that’s temporary and I ended up enjoying just relaxing and walking the dogs without constant use of my devices. I must stress the good outweighed the bad, it was a lovely stay and the host was really helpful and informative.

Lovely place for a long weekend

The accommodation was very comfortable throughout, had plenty of space and was well equipped. The table football was an added bonus! Location was perfect for our needs with plenty of beautiful places only a short drive away. Hafida was a very friendly and helpful host, quick to respond to our messages.

Very quiet location. Plenty of rainy day activities supplied by the owner which came in handy. beautiful fussball table.

The lack of WiFi can be upsetting to some guests, but for others it is nice to be off grid for a few days.

Lovely!

Lovely location and cottage. Well equipped. Comfy beds. Lovely reservoir walks. Not far from Little Haven and the rockpools. Only 10 minutes drive from supermarkets.

No WiFi, but Vodafone phone signal available outside. Quite nice not to be glued to my phone though! Garden not 100% secure for a dog due to a few hedge gaps and a dog could possibly jump down from the wall to the road if unsupervised.

Order a TV remote and Book Broadband installation, then you have a great place to stay

Its a great place to get a away from it all, comfortable. Owner was helpful when we for got the code! Thank you.

There were 2 major things that irritated us, the television remote control was missing and it had been for several weeks noted by other users in the guest book. The TV was stuck on audio help (for the visually impaired) this isn't difficult order a remote from amazon for next day delivery! There was no Wi-Fi at all so obviously no internet, again stated in the handbook, this needs sorting for future guests. You shouldn’t advertise free Wi-Fi if it’s not available. There is no mobile/data network that reaches inside the house, tried with 3 different providers so beware.

a lovely quiet location, very comfortable stay and great communications with host. right opposite a nature reserve which is lovely to walk in and see only a few minutes from beaches and local pubs.

hard to find anything to fault. we couldn’t turn off the audio assistance prompts on the telly but that’s about it

Superb

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and comfortable cottage. It had all the necessary facilities and the décor was lovely. The bath and wet rooms were a big plus and it was very warm. Communication with Hafida was clear and informative. The area around the cottage was very peaceful and it was about 30-40 minutes drive from attractions like Barafundle Bay, Freshwater West and Bosherton lake.

Lovely cottage that has been refurbished with modern amenities that is clean and tidy.

There is no internet and since there is no reception in the cottage made it difficult/inconvenient when finding places to walk or restaurants/pubs to eat at.

Great instructions in advance with directions and code. Really well presented internally, well fitted out and comfortable. Very clean. Great heating. Good fire if required. Very quiet location. Lovely walking options and a good location.

External area decking is very slippery.Given the amount of rain in Wales this is not the best material. Advertised as having Wi-Fi which is certainly doesn’t! Not advised of this till full payment made. Clear that this is an ongoing issue. It did not detract from this stay but could have been very problematic on other occasions. Should not advertise as having Wi-Fi!

We both feel super relaxed after having a restorative space to reset 😀

The peaceful, tranquil location and being able to see the stars, hear the bees and see the otters in the nature reserve lake alongside the property. The bed was super comfortable, the bath was huge and a welcome sanctuary after a day walking the coastal paths. Finally being able to relax in front of an open fire made our evening xx

Loved the location..and ease of picking up key, and peace and quiet. Could have stayed longer. Our 5 month pup loved the roomyness.

The settees bit low and uncomfortable (lumpy)watching TV ( if you want) and getting round kitchen was tight ,moving chairs (very heavy) out of the way. No comfortable chairs out on deck..on the house,we did cheekily carry some from garden deck. I’m not able bodied so climbing over steps to upper garden was a no,altho I tried.

Tranquil and relaxing

A lovely relaxing, well equipped home! it is in a great location for visiting the area and is a short distance to shops and facilities. The house itself is well equipped with everything you need and has a homely relaxed feel. My dogs were more than welcome and the garden is secure for them to roam around. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again in the future .

The mobile phone signal wasn't great but some may say that's perfect !

A very pleasant experience.

The property was unusual and quaint. Well equipped with every inch of the cotage used.. I would use it again.

There was no mention of the name of the cottage on any paperwork. (thisform is an example) It is a long way from Barafundle and and although it is clearly a little gem the address is "Sykes Mill Cottage". A small point but nevertheless an irritation that we could do without after driving from Kent.

Pleasant but worrying not to have any form of emergency contact!!!

The location was fabulous, although the cottage is on the road, there are very few cars. It was very peaceful and I loved being able to practice yoga and tai chi whilst the early morning sun rose above the mature trees. The bird song and the running stream make this a perfect cottage for nature lovers. At night the toads visited too! If you're planning a trip to see the puffins at Skomer Island this is a great location as it's only 8 miles away. The puffin trip was amazing and we quite literally saw thousands of puffins which was the highlight of our trip. Loved it. The newly Runwayskiln cafe was outstanding with the most delicious freshly made sandwiches & cakes. Yum :)

The foam mattresses were far too soft, it was impossible for 2 people to sleep in the downstairs in the double bed because of massive dip in the mattress. Upstairs foam mattresses weren't much better! Sadly, my husband who has a bad back found it very difficult to sleep. Worst of all was the feeling of being 'cut off' no landline, no mobile phone reception. With no nearby neighbours God forbid there is an emergency. There was one television in the lounge, but it wasn't tuned in. The host knew we have a teenage son, who obviously was very unhappy to have no access to the outside World, nor any Television!!!!! (A few board games might have been handy to save the day). There were lots of big spiders in the bathrooms, luckily we're okay with them. Finally, I'm unsure why the host would promote the cottage as near Barafundle beach, it's some 16 miles away so somewhat misleading.

Incredibly beautiful Place to stay

The location is fantastic and beautiful. The whole house is beautifully built and decorated. All the rooms are big enough and the shower and toilet facilities are exceptional.The location is very isolated and feels like a forest stay. Very well maintained and very very clean. The host was very helpful and reply to your email instantly. Good place to stay for families and couples and explore the beautiful beaches and food.I highly recommend this place. I will book this place again and again whenever I visit South Wales. Thanks Hafida..
