About this cabin rental

Quiet cabin located on a private mountain road. Very spacious with 3 floors and 5 bedrooms with a lot to do. Bring the whole family, we can sleep up to 10 people.
We are close to Lake Raystown Resort, Trough Creek State Park, Allegrippas Bike Trail, Juniata College, Penn State University, Lincoln Caverns and 1,000 Steps. Close to various boat launches and there is space to pull in and park a boat or two with a large wrap around driveway. There is a large wrap around deck with patio furniture for lots of seating. Enjoy the firepit area, with lots of room to sit and roast marshmallows or hot dogs! For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, we have an external security camera located on the end of the garage wall closest to the driveway.

Please be cautious when using water, with being on the mountain our well capacity is not as high as most, but we do have a 3000 gallon additional storage on top of what our well produces. We have yet to have any issues thanks to our additional water storage and guests who have worked with us on this issue!

This property had it all! Beautiful setting in the trees. Our family stayed the week for relaxing and boating. Short trip to Tatman boat launch. Quiet road. House was well stocked with essentials and very clean. Check in-check out was a breeze. Beautiful porch with a view. Relaxing fire pit. Enjoyed a peaceful week!

Everything was as pictured and described in the listing but the deck was so much more! Sitting at all hours of the days among the tree tops offered an excellent way to enjoy nature. This house had something for every member of our extended family and the dining table was perfect for large meals when it rained. This was the best stocked kitchen of any rental property. I took casserole dishes and my crock pot but both were already there. The coffee bar and basic cooking supplies were a hit as well. The drive way was plenty big for a boat although the road to the the property would have been tight if we had passed another car, but we didn’t so all was good.This is a great house for someone with limited mobility as there is a ramp to enter the house and bedroom on the main floor which, along with very close parking. All the furnishings were very comfortable and set up well for large groups. The bunk beds were a hit for the youngest. Great communication from the host as well! Overall, this was an excellent stay!!!

This is a wonderful place to have a family get together. Location is near the lake, near the marina, and near hiking trails. There are games, cornhole and a fire pit at the property, not to mention humming birds!

This is an amazing property. The house is large, clean and well kept. We had 10 people and stayed comfortably here. The kitchen is well stocked, the living room furniture is in great shape and comfy. We enjoyed the fire pit area and used the grill for burgers. Kids loved the pool table. Internet is on the slow side and didn’t always let the Roku function properly. Very close to Lake Raystown resort. We would definitely love to stay here again.

My family really enjoyed this property, it felt as if we were "off grid" but with all the amenities of being "on grid". Home was very clean and as advertised in the photos. The photos, however, do not do justice to the gorgeous views and peaceful surroundings. My family enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the chipmunks and other animals and just enjoying nature. The home was large enough to accommodate 3 generations and we never felt on top of each other. The rooms are incredibly spacious. In addition to the large space and beautiful surroundings, this home was stocked with everything you need. Pots, pans, bowls, cookie sheets, trays and anything else you may need to cook meals. Plenty of dishes, cups and silverware. There were lots of extra blankets, sheets and towels. You really only need your groceries. The owners are very accessible and respond quickly to any questions. Highly recommend this property.

This get together is a yearly tradition that 5 other high school best friends and I decided we need to do. Although the furthest away one lives is 3 hours we rarely get to see other. When the first of our group arrived, he grouped texted us and only wrote WOW! He could not believe how beautiful the place was (even though it was raining). As we all showed up, we felt at home instantly as we checked the house out, and couldn't believe how nice it was. Having the pool table was a great touch since it rained almost all weekend, however we did get to have a fire on Saturday and kept it burning all day and through the evening. Sitting around the massive table and enjoying the stories and food was so cheerful. We did joke on how clean everything was and each time when we would come through the door, we would hang our jackets up and place our shoes neatly on the mat (my wife asked me why I didn't do this at home lol). I can say without a doubt this place was well worth the money to catch up with 5 of my best friends.

Our family for 5 (including 3 kids under the age of 4) had a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful, private, and very spacious home on the mountainside! The home was very clean with great amenities and everything we needed for adults and toddlers alike! Carolynne was super easy to communicate with and the home was so well prepared with easy and simple check in and check out procedures! I highly recommend a stay at her place for anyone looking to get away with their family of any size!!

We wanted to vacation with our 4 grown kids and their significant others at Raystown Lake. I came upon this property during my search and very glad I did. It was in a beautiful mostly private setting with plenty of room for all; campfires, game night, meals, sleeping arrangements, watching the videos we took and more!! This is a comfy, cozy fully stocked vacation house!! Couldn’t ask for more!!

This was a perfect place for a family gathering. We had plenty of space to spread out; beds for everyone; big enough kitchen to have prep area and visiting area; great fire pit for late night talks; close enough to the lake for recreation. Host was attentive and provided all we needed for a comfortable stay.

This is a beautiful, secluded, spacious property very close (9 minutes) to Raystown Lake Resort. The house is stocked with everything you need: shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels, sheets, etc. The owners communicated all information thoroughly, and was very timely with answers any to questions we had. We all agreed we will stay here again the next time we come up to the Lake.

Terrific hillside house in the woods with lots of options for sleeping arrangements. The fire pit is a bonus. Don't worry if you forgot something, the host probably has it stocked in the house somwhere; kitchen, bath and bedding very well supplied. Mini-splits in every room. Seems to be very recently remodled and everything looks very nice and designed to be comfortable. Just about 8 minutes from the lake.

First time at Raystown. Beautiful area, beautiful home. I was surprised with the items available at the house. This was our first vrbo so it was a wonderful surprise to see had we forgotten any shampoo etc., we would have had no need to run to a store. Kids loved the pool table and games available. TV was never used. Fire pit was enjoyable. The property is close to all activities.

Beautiful Home. Pictures don't do this place justice! The home was much bigger then expected. Although we had a significant amount of rainfall while we were their we could still totally enjoy the weekend. The huge table allowed us plenty of room for games of all types, the pool table upstairs was great as well. We even had the opportunity to still play cornhole in the rain thanks to the large carport. Thanks again for the memorable trip!

This was definitely one of our favorite family getaways! It’s a great, quiet location- yet close to lots of water-fun stuff. The house was bigger and better than we expected…so much room for everyone! And everything you might need was there. We loved that our group of 12 fit at the dining table together and the kids loved the pool table! The area around the house is beautiful and centrally located to lots of stuff. Carolynne was such a great help before and during our stay, giving lots of suggestions and letting us know where everything was, even a really good cliff jumping spot on the lake. We had a great time and would definitely come again.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful rental home. It was very close to Raystown lake where we had a great time boating and swimming each day. Everything was clean and well maintained and the owners were very helpful and hospitable. We had a five star experience and would recommend it to large or small family groups.
