The 18th-century house was fully restored by spring 2022. It is the only rental property on the estate.
On the first floor (natural stone flooring), the house features a stainless steel and granite kitchen opening onto the terrace, and an adjoining living room opening onto the separate entrance. A bathroom and a laundry room complete this level.
On the first floor (solid oak flooring), a hallway with a walk-in closet leads to three bedrooms, two of which are en suite with adjoining bathrooms. The bedrooms are equipped with queen-size (160 cm) Sofitel Epeda beds and built-in storage. Showers: 120/80.
The vacation rental:
A luxury home (150 m²) located in the heart of the Domaine d’Aiguevive, in the “Golden Triangle” of the Périgord Noir. Bordering the organic walnut grove and opening onto the estate’s Italian-style park, this house—restored in 2022—offers an exceptional quality of life.
The shaded terrace boasts a breathtaking view of the Bastide de Domme and the manor house. A natural swimming pool (50m x 20m x 3m) and a 100m² glass-enclosed table tennis room complete the property.

The Estate:
Château d’Aiguevive is located in the Dordogne, near Sarlat, in the heart of the highly sought-after and popular Périgord Noir region, within the “Golden Triangle” of the Dordogne Valley, designated a “Major Site of Aquitaine.”
The estate covers 7.5 hectares and consists, in addition to the elegant 18th-century noble residence, of two beautiful outbuildings, a 15th-century mill, and was “for many years the studio of the great artist Lucien de Maleville,” whose brush “captured the charm of the Périgord Noir with a very personal genius.” (J. The property overlooks the historic bastide town of Domme and features a monumental stone-built pond fed by a spring and designed for swimmers. The Domaine d’Aiguevive also has a watermill used for producing walnut oil, which I can show you around.

The Domaine d’Aiguevive is located 1 minute from the center of the village of Cénac-et-Saint-Julien and 2 minutes from the banks of the Dordogne River. The village has all the necessary food shops and services. The farmers’ and artisans’ market takes place every Tuesday throughout the year.
The estate is ideally located 10 minutes from the city center of the renowned town of Sarlat, 5 minutes from the Domme airfield, 30 minutes from the Souillac train station (Paris), and 20 minutes from the Saint-Cyprien train station (Bordeaux)

Great location, lovely gite, and very friendly and helpful host. Short walk to the village with its supermarket and excellent boulangerie. A little further (and upwards) is Domme. The only downside was that the staircase to the bedrooms is a bit narrow for older and less mobile folks.
