Summary:
Spend a trip in Northern Michigan at Hillside Pines! Nestled in the trees on a hill, this cottage is perfect for a family looking for a private getaway! The main floor has a large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom. There is also a queen bedroom with a full bath right next door. The kitchen has all the necessary supplies and plenty of room to cook meals in. There is a full laundry that even has a dog wash station! Stepping out onto the deck you will be looking over the large backyard that has a fire pit to spend your nights roasting marshmallows.
There are two full-sized bedrooms located in the basement along with a half bath. The basement also has a newly refelted pool table and a TV room (no cable) creating the perfect hang-out space. You can also walk out from the basement to the backyard!
**WiFi has limited connectivity**
Check-in: 4pm
Check-out: 10am
Driveway is very steep and can get icy in the winter. All-wheel drive is recommended!
Dogs are allowed for an additional $50 per dog.
A 4 digit code will be sent out the day before check-in and that is how you will enter the house.
There is a $50 cancellation fee that will be taken from the security deposit.

The house is at the top of a hill on a long 2-track dirt driveway. The house seems to be pretty new. It was very clean when we checked in. I received timely emails/texts assuring I knew what I needed to know, but when I replied to any of those communications I never received a response.
The internet is satellite internet, so if the day is rainy or snowy you may not have internet connection. Also, even on relatively clear days, the internet would still go out periodically. When it worked, the signal is strong enough to stream video.
One thing we found rather was odd, there was no TV on the main floor. There was only one TV in the house and it was in the basement. Either due to the placement of the TV relative to WiFi router, or maybe due to the age of the TV, it really struggled to maintain an internet connection (even when the internet was working well), so watching TV was really hit or miss.
Regarding cellular signal, I have Verizon and we typically had around 3 bars.
The kitchen was very well outfitted with most everything you could want and the appliances were all modern. The game room in the basement was really nice, especially the pool table.
There were a couple of minor mechanical issues during our stay, but for the most part, nothing that was a real problem. I notified the owner of the issues and hopefully they will get fixed quickly. Overall, the house is absolutely gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I would definitely rent this house again.
