Great location and roof terrace so would stay again

Fixtures old and broken and not properly cleaned

I have stayed in Alicante numerous times but this was the first time that I have stayed in the old town . The property was conveniently located close to the beach and the centre of town . The Central Market was only a 5 to 10 minute walk away . There is also a supermarket close by . The terrace was stunning and surprising quiet at night . The view was amazing and you even had a distant view of the sea . There was a fridge, a microwave , a washing machine and a small hot plate for cooking . There were also ample pots and pans including cutlery , cups and plates . Towels and toiletries were also provided which was an unexpected bonus . The bathroom was adequate and there was always hot water available . The shower was good. Just be sure to close the shower curtain properly . Communication from the owner was excellent . He was very friendly and helpful .

There is no lift so you have to ascend several flights of stairs before you enter the property . This was not a problem for me , but if you have mobility issues , or you are carrying heavy luggage please be aware of this . The cord of the blind in the kitchen is broken so the window does not close fully . Easy enough to fix this . There can be an unpleasant smell at times in the bathroom and terrace . The building is old and the smell was only noticeable from time to time . The terrace could do with a general tidy up but not really a big issue .

Points positifs Le propriétaire est réactif et intervient rapidement en cas de problème, ce qui est très appréciable. Des produits comme le gel douche et le shampooing sont mis à disposition. La literie est globalement correcte et les draps étaient propres à notre arrivée. L’appartement reste fonctionnel et convenable pour un court séjour, surtout si l’on passe la majorité du temps à l’extérieur. Le rapport qualité-prix est acceptable.

La porte-fenêtre coulissante donnant sur le balcon est difficile à fermer, malgré une intervention du propriétaire, le problème est revenu. Le ménage pourrait être amélioré : traces sur certaines surfaces, ustensiles de cuisine parfois sales. Il manque des couverts en double, peu pratique pour deux personnes. Une odeur d’égout assez forte est présente par moments. Le rideau de douche est sale en bas et devrait être remplacé. La couverture comporte des taches, même si les draps étaient propres. La climatisation est peu efficace, la pièce reste chaude, surtout la nuit. Certains équipements sont défectueux : volets cassés laissant entrer la lumière tôt le matin, présence de fourmis. Les escaliers sont très étroits et peuvent être dangereux, nous avons d’ailleurs fait une chute dès le premier jour. Le lit semble avoir été réparé au milieu, bien qu’il reste confortable.
