About this house rental
A rare waterfront offering in Moultonborough on Lake Winnipesaukee's Dow Island will leave you coming back year after year. This warm and inviting 4 bedroom for eight guests, 1-1/2 bath home features a large level lot, a 60’ deck for morning coffee and cooking out, a perched beach for waterfront games, boating and floating to dining beachside and closing out the evening with s’mores by the fire pit.
The oversized family room with vaulted ceilings and five sliders offer an abundance of natural light and plenty of gathering space for game night and bragging rights. An adjacent three season room with vaulted ceiling and and walls of windows offers a quiet retreat for morning coffee, a good book or an afternoon nap. And when you’re ready to turn in, four bedrooms will help you dream about tomorrow.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a center island for prep and seating for two and a dining table with seating for six. Five sliders across the front bring the lake inside providing breathtaking views and cool breezes through the evening hours. The long range 180 degree views are truly majestic, and the sunsets are stunning!
An island vacation on the largest lake in New Hampshire is as relaxing or busy as you want it to be. Put away the phones, tablets and laptops and talk, laugh, read a good book or just listen to the sounds of the water lapping the shore. Take an early morning swim or kayak around the island with the loons.
Dow Island is in close proximity to the public boat launch at the Long Island bridge, Harillas Landing and Braun Bay where the afternoons pass slowly anchored at the popular sand bar. Or visit downtown Wolfeboro by boat, offering shopping, restaurants, ice cream, coffee shops and much more.
Our seasonal rentals run Saturday to Saturday, full weeks only, minimum 7 night stay is required.
Dow Island is accessed by guest's boat. For the convenience of all guests, this is a smoke and pet free home.

When you vacation on an island, it just hits differently...and this house on Dow Island did not disappoint. Very clean, updated, and well located home with spectacular sunsets, and the chance to spot some wild life with deer and loons. Grandparents, parents, and 2 small children all had fun, even on one rainy day when you can't drive away, and the family ends up playing board games all day...which we never would've done otherwise! Tom and Kathleen were very responsive right to the end when Nana left her diamond rings on the nightstand, and Tom and Kathleen returned them personally by boat! Very nice people, very nice house. We will ber back! -Damon

My family and I stayed at Tom & Kathleens island home for a week and it was a wonderful vacation! The house was perfect and beautiful, the location is amazing and we got to watch beautiful sunsets every night! Not to mention we had a deer visit almost nightly, not something we expected being on an island! Everyone that we met on the island were friendly, it was a great environment for a relaxing vacation on the lake. We enjoyed the beach area and used it daily. It was a perfect vacation and we cant wait to go back! Tom and Kathleen were very responsive and made sure we knew all about the property! Thanks Tom and Kathleen for a memorable vacation!

The house was extremely well equipped with everything we needed for cooking all meals and it's huge - plenty of space for our party of 8 adults. Check-in and check-out was smooth and the hosts thoughtfully provided a checklist to make sure nothing was missed.
Bring your boat and enjoy waterskiing and tubing around the bay! Dow Island is a great location - we had easy rides to Wolfboro and Center Harbor during our stay. I recommend launching from Harilla Landing on Long Island, where you can generally find parking along the road for your vehicle and trailer, but there are plenty of public boat launches around the lake.
The pictures in the listing are very accurate - if anything they don't do the place justice. The sunset views are just spectacular - worth the price of the rental alone, really.
If I had to find one thing that was not 100% perfect, it would be that the wifi was on the slow side - it's on an island, after all. However, you don't go to the lake to spend time on a computer anyway!
Tom and Kathleen are excellent hosts with a beautiful lake house, and we look forward to renting again in the future!
