YAMO-Izukogen

A lovely house. A cosy feeling with the pyjama's, blankets, record player and freshly ground coffee. The movie projector was also great! Lovely contact with the staff by chat, communicating about cleaning times and wishes.

There were some bugs and a lot of mosquitos around the house, but there were insect screens in front of most windows and repellent was provided. It's all part of being in the countryside:-)

Ein wunderschönes Haus mitten in der Natur. Tolle Aussicht, gut eingerichtete Küche, viel Platz, heiße Dusche mit viel Wasserdruck, Plattenspieler, Parkplatz, helles Wohnzimmer, gemütliches Schlafzimmer, alles liebevoll eingerichtet. Es gibt ein schönes Fotobuch über die Renovierung des Hauses. Ein paar Getränke stehen im Kühlschrank bereit. Es gibt‘s nicht an dem Haus zu bemängeln, es ist perfekt!

First, the property is beautifully designed. You can feel the owners care and dedication to outfitting the place, from little ornaments to comfortable bedding, to vinyl records and movie projectors. The wood theme makes it homely and warm. Second, it was great liaising with Jin and the staff. I had some transport troubles and couldn’t get to izu on the day of booking. This is hugely inconvenient for Jin and staff, and completely my fault. Yet they arranged for me to stay the next day minimising administrative arrangements. I am so grateful to the team behind Yamo, and am already looking forward to my next stay.

Nothing. As some others have noted, the stairway up to the apartment could be a little challenging. It was raining heavily on the day I stayed. But nothing that one cannot manage.

The house is scenic and beautiful. Super clean with comfy beds. It's quiet and peaceful and perfect for a cozy, meditative holiday.

The "steps" are Incredibly treacherous!!! They are not just many...they are uneven and steep and NO railing (they would be illegal in the US). It's a beautiful home....but beware that access - especially with luggage- is extremely difficult.
