The property was poorly cleaned, with dust, hair, and spilled rice on the floor upon arrival. The rubbish bin lid was covered in yogurt. Kitchen supplies are the absolute bare minimum. Cutting knives were few and blunt. There were lots of basic things that you would expect in a kitchen missing (eg tongs). A lot of the cookware was poorly cleaned. The grater was caked with some kind of food residue. Tea/Coffee/Dishwasing supplies etc were also very basic and the cheapest available (think Costco). It's very clear that the management company for this rental manages hundreds of properties and treats them all with the same one-size-fits-all approach. The outsourced customer service was some of the most diabolical customer service I have ever experienced. The type that makes you question reality itself. We needed to change dates due to an unexpected change of plans. Each time I was messaged or spoke with customer service, it was with a completely different person who knew nothing about the issue at hand and made no effort to read the chain of messages explaining the situation. Customer service representatives continually contradicted each other, making the situation 10x more difficult than it needed to be, resulting in multiple calls to Booking.com to get answers to questions that the host management refused to answer clearly. In addition, the host management company requires guests to provide a credit card and register with a 3rd-party app to manage the booking. No explanation was given for this, and it all seemed very sketchy. Booking.com assured me it was very normal. I'm not generally in the habit of providing my credit card details over a chat app to a third party when the booking was already secured via full payment with Booking.com This is the kind of corporate hosting/ownwership with outsourced call-centre customer service that is ruining holiday rental platforms.
