Beautiful property, room and location! Loved it

Our stay at Boutique Residence Arion was such a lovely introduction to Croatia. We absolutely loved Rovinj, and this ended up being the perfect place to experience it from. Although the hotel isn’t in the conventional downtown area, we actually preferred that. The center of Rovinj can be very touristy, crowded, and lively, while the hotel was just far enough away to feel peaceful without being inconvenient (about a 15-minute walk into town). It was also perfectly situated for exploring Golden Cape, and the staff gave us recommendations for some of their favorite local spots to swim and relax that were much less touristy than places, like Mulini Beach. The staff really went above and beyond throughout our stay. Breakfast was some of the best we had during our entire two-week trip, and after traveling for two weeks, we were especially grateful for their help with our laundry situation! 😂 They made everything feel easy and were genuinely so welcoming. The restaurant attached to the hotel, Il Faro, was another highlight. We had some incredible fish there, along with wonderful service, and it ended up being one of our favorite meals in Rovinj. We absolutely loved our stay and couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Croatia. Thank you to the entire team for making our time in Rovinj so memorable. We would 100% stay here again the next time we're in town!

The hotel was beautiful, with a lovely classic vibe, a great bar, and a very good breakfast. The breakfast was varied, fresh, and tasty. The service was impeccable, and the waiters always seemed to know exactly what you needed before you even asked. The room was okay overall. However, when we booked, we specifically chose and paid extra for a City View room, but unfortunately the view was not really like the one shown in the booking photos. Our room was located further back, so most of what we could see was the street, with only a very small glimpse of the city. I really appreciated that the hotel was close to the city center and also conveniently located next to a market. For a two-night stay, it was a good choice. The staff were exceptional, very communicative, friendly, and welcoming. Thank you very much for everything!

Regarding the City View, which unfortunately wasn’t really much of a city view.

Good location - 15-20 mins walk to most things. Clean (though very compact) rooms. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. I was able to check in early and check out late as it wasn't busy which I really appreciated.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this for a peaceful night's sleep. The fridge in the room made a very loud buzzing noise (presumably overheating as it was in a cupboard), varying in volume and intensity throughout the night, loud enough to wake me several times. I politely raised this with the manager the next morning, expecting perhaps that another room with a working/quiet fridge would be offered (it was off season/midweek, and the hotel wasn't full) or at least some empathy for the interrupted sleep, but he told me that all the rooms have this same problem so instead he had to unplug the fridge altogether so I couldn't use it. In addition, the hallway lights are left on all night and the light comes in through the gap under the bedroom door - not ideal if you are someone who needs full darkness to sleep. The wifi was really bad - often as low as 6mbps and not fast enough to watch a video or tv show. In addition, although it was listed as an amenity on Booking and on the hotel website that they could offer massage/beauty treatments, the receptionist told me that the salon has moved to another location so they couldn't help with this, which was disappointing.
