CASA DE LA PLAYA: La Cala de Mijas

The location was ideal especially for a family having the swimming pools and the beach just a few minutes walk away. Supermarkets and restaurants were also in walking distance with no steep roads to deal with.

Unfortunately the property did not live up to its location. Things I think let it down and could easily be remedied were. Dbl bedroom only 1 bedside light. Twin bedroom only 1 bedside table and no bedside light. The bathroom was old and tired. no ventilation fan and the one window the insect screen was torn. The kitchen extractor fan did not work. There was no Fire blanket or fire extinguisher. There was no heat detector in the kitchen and no smoke alarms in the property. To reach the front door or balcony doors at the front of the property from the bedrooms at the back of the property you have to go past the kitchen. Kitchen utensils no decent corkscrew, there is now, only 1 teaspoon, there are 4 new ones now, It would be nice if there were some deeper bowls for cereal. Fridge even when set to almost off still froze everything. Just needs a little TLC and address the safety issues and could be a lovely holiday property .

The host Natalia was brilliant, we loved so much about the place it was very secure and the two pools were just perfect, the WiFi was great the showers were nice and hot we had everything we needed

The only thing I would say would be the place could do with some air conditioning and some sun loungers for the pool but don’t let this put you off it’s easy to just use a towel to sunbath and the fans in the rooms kept us cool at night
