Lovely pool, nice breakfast, comfortable bed.
The ventilation system is a disaster. As we exited the elevator on the 2nd floor we immediately noticed a loud noisy sound resembling a giant hive of bees or maybe the sound of an airport runway. We hoped that this noise would not follow us into our room, but sadly we were disappointed. The loud low pitched humming sound persisted. So annoying. I felt like leaving, but we had checked in after 8 hours on the road. We were tired and didn’t want to head out to look for alternative accommodation.
Then we looked for glasses to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day on the road. There were none to be found. I asked at the front desk for them to be delivered. I was informed that glassware was no longer available at Hampton Inns due to breakage and theft. Really? Kidding? We have been at less expensive hotels where there are always two glasses available for drinks at the end of a long day. Here we were only offered paper cups. No thank you! We expect to feel comfortable and relaxed at a hotel of this calibre. Hilton, no less! Sipping wine from a paper cup while enduring a loud thrumming noise in the background? Very disappointing. Hampton Inns by Hilton are off our list.
