Ani's Homestay

My stay was simply perfect. The homestay is spotlessly clean, which I highly appreciated while in Kolkata. The owners are people of rare honesty and kindness; they were extremely helpful at all times, even when I struggled to figure out how to use the heater (my own fault, lol!). ​The single room is ideal: cozy and, above all, a haven of peace. It’s impressive how quiet the location is by the city's standards; instead of constant honking, you hear the sound of crows. A true oasis of tranquility and safety. I highly recommend it!

Honestly, nothing. Everything was perfect. The only minor issue was with the heater, but that was just my own mistake in not knowing how to operate it, and the hosts were quick to help. An impeccable stay.

Очень уютное и комфортное жилье. До Храма Кали 5 минут пешком. Рядом много кафе, магазинов, рынок с фруктами. Дома можно приготовить чай и насладиться чаепитеем на веранде. Чувствовала себя, как дома. Обязательно остановлюсь в этом жилье, когда буду в Колькате.

Eine schnuckelige kleinst-Wohnung gleich neben der Vermieterin, aber mit völlig autonomen Zugang. Die LAge ist perfekt. In einem kleinen Seitenweg, 50m von der Hauptstraße entfernt, ist es relativ ruhig. 250m zur U-Bahn-Station Jatin Das Park (nördlicher Ausgang). Im Süden schließt sich das bekannte und sehenswerte Viertel Kalighat an. Definitiv eine Emphelung.

Ani's Homestay was a perfect home base for exploring Kolkata. The homestay is in a wonderful location in a nice and safe part of Kolkata and near a metro station. When I took a walk late in the evening I saw others, including women, strolling, and found good places to eat still open. The selection of food nearby is tremendous, from street food to small restaurants patronized by locals to Indian-style sweet shops, and if you want to go upscale, Park Street is a short metro or Uber ride away. The room, really an in-law apartment, is quiet and is decorated in colors that give it a peaceful feel. The bed, pillows and blankets are comfortable and I slept really well every night of my stay. Also there is a kitchenette with dishes, a mini oven, a toaster, and an electric kettle supplied (although cooking is not allowed), and Ani brought me lots of filtered water. Ani is as caring a person as you will ever meet. She is an avid traveler and understands the concerns of travelers. She gave me perfect suggestions as to where to go and where to eat that contributed a lot to my stay in Kolkata. When she found out that she and I were attending the book fair on the same day, she allowed me to stow away in the taxi she was taking there with her old friend and nephew, which allowed me to meet those excellent people as well. I had a great time exploring Kolkata, and staying at Ani's Homestay was an important part of that. Highly highly recommended.
